It won't matter if you spread out and hog it all to yourself or if you're snuggling up with your partner, either way, the High Peak Double Camp Mat from Coleman will ensure a comfortable slumber.
Offering 128cm of space across the width of the mat and 200cm in length, the 3D construction and cross core technology far exceed the price tag. The High Peak also provides a thickness of 10cm and the ability to self-inflate so all you have to do is unroll the mat and flip the valve to inflate. If you prefer a firmer surface for sleeping, then grab the roll-top storage bag, attach it to the valve and use it to pump a bit more air inside. This mat will also fit in Coleman's Swagger Series for the ultimate quick, easy touring setup.

winter 1 answer
hi would this be suitable for winter camping in a spartan 2 tent? we have sleeping bags rated to -5c already. also, do you think that although it is 128cm wide, it would still fit in the sleeping area of the spartan 2 which is 125cm wide?
David - Goulburn North, NSW (1 year ago)
G'day David,
Coleman hasn't done any R-Value testing on this mat, but we would expect it to have a similar rating to other self-inflating mats in this category. Based on that the mat should be suitable for winter camping when paired with an appropriate sleeping bag for the conditions. In terms of size, we generally don't recommend a sleeping mat larger than the floor space of the tent. It can put stress or pressure on the tent walls and therefore seams over time, and if the mattress is physically up against the tent wall, can create a moisture-wicking point. You might get away with it if you don't inflate the mattress to its full capacity.

Heat Tolerance1 answer
Hi awesome Snowys team! Is it ok to put the mat in a roof top bag when travelling on sunny days? Do I have to worry about the heat damaging the mat? Many thanks.
Rick - Blackburn, VIC (2 years ago)
G'day Rick,
Travelling with one of these mats in warmer weather shouldn't be an issue, we'd just recommend ensuring that the valves are open. We wouldn't recommend long-term storage of the mat in the roof top tent if you leave it attached to your vehicle.

How should the mat be stored?1 answer
Zempire recommends storing their monstamat unrolled and flat with the valve open, this is to prevent a compressed state “memory” on the foam. Does Coleman have any recommendation on how to store their mat? Thank you.
Rick - Blackburn, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Rick,
The best practice for any stored self-inflating mat is the same - to store unrolled. Non bonded mats absolutely have to be as they will be damaged otherwise. Mats like the Zempire and Coleman options are fully bonded so there will be no harm to the mat storing them rolled up, but it is recommended if its going to be a long time between trips, to pull them out and inflate them everynow and then. If you are going camping once a month or so that wouldnt be an issue, but every 6-8 weeks to pull them out would be a good idea.

Role up with swag?1 answer
Are these types of mats easy enough to role up with your swag? Ie replacing a foam one with this
Pete - Embleton, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Pete,
Yes, these mats have a flip-style valve, so you can flip the valve to deflate, push out some air, and then roll up your swag with no worries.

Coleman against monster mat 1 answer
Hi what do you think against the monster mat please
Cheryl - Wodonga, VIC (3 years ago)
G'day Cheryl,
The Coleman High peak Mats haven't been around long, but so far the reviews are pretty positive, and we're pretty happy with how they look and perform. Overall the Monstamat has a slight edge with the longer warranty period, and as they have been available for longer they've been tried and tested.

R value1 answer
How does this mat compare to other similar products in terms of ability to withstand cold? Does it have an assigned R value?
Louise - Treeby, WA(3 years ago)
G'day Louise,
Unfortunately Coleman hasn't had these mats tested, so there is no assigned R-value. They do have foam insulation, so should provide some insulation, and will be suitable for use in most climates other than in Alpine regions.

Thermal rating1 answer
Is there an available thermal rating on this product?
Anton - Dulwich Hill, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Anton,
These mattresses do have foam insulation, however, Coleman has not had these tested so there is no specified R-value listed.

150kg myself, how would i go sleeping on this?1 answer
Im 150kg, would i be able toi sleep on this without being on the ground?
josh - Brisbane, QLD(4 years ago)
G'day Josh,
Yes, the High Peak Double Camp Mat will do the job. The mattress is a fully sealed unit, so depending on how much you allow the mattress to inflate you should find you'll be supported up off the ground. If you allow the mattress to full inflate, with plenty of tension you'll be fine.

Is the Bag Water proof ?1 answer
I would just like to find out if the bag is water proof ? If I have it on my roof and it starts raining will the bed get wet ?
Kalvin - Newport Beach, NSW(4 years ago)
G'day Kalvin,
Coleman hasn't provided any specifications on whether the bag is waterproof or not, but they are seal sealed, and appear to be fairly water resistant. The end that attaches to the inflation valve does have a large hole in it, so it's not completely sealed, but it should do a fairly good job in light showers. If you're likely to hit heavier rain we'd recommend wrapping the mattress in a heavy-duty garbage bag before popping it in the stuff bag, then you'll be set for pretty much anything!

Comfort 1 answer
Hi, just seeing how this mat compares with the Zempire twin. Which one would you say would be more comfortable to sleep on. We don't have a store here that have these to compare. Which one would you recommend. Thanks
Leah - Newcastle (4 years ago)
G'day Leah,
The Coleman High Peak Duble and Zempire Twin feel pretty similar to us. They've both got similar designs, and fabrics, with adjustable valves. In terms of comfort, they feel pretty similar to us, so we'd happily recommend either brand.

Is there a pump or adaptor to fit the air intake valve?1 answer
Just bought this and so far it appears to be a fantastic firm mattress but using the carry bag as a pump is a little slow and awkward. I was wondering if anyone knows of any air pump or adaptor for one that'd fit this mattress' air intake valve? The mouth of the valve is quite wide and shallow due to the one-way valve mechanism, so seems like it may not be compatible with the regular adaptors that come with most pumps. I haven't tested this however.
Kieran - Near Geelong(4 years ago)
G'day Keiran,
The intake valve on these is pretty similar to a few other brands we sell. There isn't a specific fitting that will stay in place by itself, but the larger airbed style fitting on all of our 12V, 240V, rechargeable and manual airbed pumps will do the trick, you'd just need to hold it in place while pumping.
