2200 set up 1 answer
Can you set the dual ladder 2200 solo (Alone) ?
Travis - Runaway Bay, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Travis,
Yep, the set up for this rooftop tent is exactly the same as the single ladder versions, you just have an extra ladder. You can either manage both ladders at the same time, or leave one strapped whilst you set up. Hope that helps.

Ladder weight limit1 answer
Wondering what the weight limit is on the Darche roof top tent ladders, as they look very light made.
Dan - Watson, ACT (3 years ago)
G'day Dan,
We've had this inquiry before, and our customer support team has chased up the info with Darche. The ladder itself has an overall weight rating of 150kg.

How much weight can it hold1 answer
How much weight can it hold
Max - Araluen(4 years ago)
G'day Max,
The tent itself doesn't have a specified weight capacity. The weight capacity will be dictated by the roof load rating of your vehicle. Best bet will be to check the roof load rating for your vehicle and then calculate the weight of all attachments that will be added to the roof, including your roof racks, tent and yourselves to determine whether this will be suitable.

diff between darche & 23zero 2200s1 answer
Love Ben's videos & have watched for each of these RTTs and they almost look like they've come out of the same factory, but there's subtle differences. Can you highlight the key differences or which you think are the best selling points of either over the other?
Dave - Canberra(4 years ago)
G'day Dave,
You're right, they are very similar, although there are a few key differences. 23Zero uses a slightly heavier duty 280gsm canvas, with Darche using 260gsm canvas. 23Zero also use a light suppression coating, so you'll get a bit of a sleep in with this model. Aside from these minor material differences, they are almost identical in every other way. We think both options are excellent, and wouldn't want to steer you in either way, as they're both great!

Can the tent be packed away with bedding inside?1 answer
We're wanting a RTT that we can stow away for travel with the bedding inside. We're not talking masses, just pillows and sleeping bag or doona.
Dianne - Denmark(4 years ago)
G'day Dianne,
Generally, you won't be able to pack away any bedding in a rooftop tent, as they're designed to fold down and keep a fairly low profile. You may be able to leave a sleeping bag inside, but generally not pillows. We'd recommend storing your bedding separately.

Regarding the two sky lights in the roof. When you zip up the storm flaps over the skylights, will it leak water through the zippers? I feel like it would if the rain came down on an angle. Is the roof area protected without the “fly†over the top during rain or is it imperative to have fly over the roof during rain even if you have storm flaps zipped up? 1 answer
I guess i am trying to find waterproof secure the roof is when storm flaps are zipped up but without the fly on.
Anthony - Narre Warren Sth, Bictoria(5 years ago)
G'day Anthony,
If you zip the storm flaps shut over the skylights you should be fairly well protected, but if there is the chance of rain, then we'd suggest making sure you've got the fly over the top. With the fly over the stop you'll be best prepared for wet weather and condensation. Without it, you might end up a tad damp if there was strong rain and wind.

How long does the setup take ?1 answer
Not able to find any material showing how easily it sets up or packs down.
007 - Perth(5 years ago)
G'day,
All of the Darche Roof Top Tents are a super quick and easy set up. Realistically you're looking at around 10mins for the tent itself, with one person. If you've also got an annex to add, you're looking at longer time and would help to have an extra person. Jump onto our Darche Roof Top Tents - How to setup video for an idea on how easy it'll be for the Hi-View 2200 Rooftop Tent to go up.

Annex Dimensions1 answer
What are the floor dimensions of the annexe and is it possible to pack it away attached to the RTT?
Kate - Sydney (5 years ago)
G'day Kate,
The Annese for the Hi-View 2200 can be found here. It comes in two different heights, with the floor dimensions being 2500m,m x 2850mm on both heights. They will need to be detached from the RTT itself and packed separately.

What dimensions go which way ie does the 2.4 run length ways with car or does 2.2m run length way with car1 answer
Are the ladders at the end of the 2.4 measurement or the 2.2 m measurement? Are you able to send me a Floor plan ?
Dan - Buderim (5 years ago)
G'day Dan,
You can mount your roof top tent any way you like, so its up to you if you have the ladders off the side or rear of your vehicle. The ladders run off the 2.2m end, and you would sleep head to foot the 2.4m way.
The actual length of the ten is approx 3m when you count in the addition 60cm ten overhang above the ladder, however the actual sleeping area is 2.4.
Hope that makes sense!

Does this rooftop tent have the ability to attach annex ? 1 answer
I would like to be able to attach an annex as well.
Dan - Buderim (6 years ago)
G'day Dan,
The Darche Hi-View 2200 has the ability to attach an annex to it. You can find the two different heigh annexes here, there are two heights depending on whether you're mounting on top of a vehicle or a ute tray/trailer.

Roof rack1 answer
What are the specifications required of the roof rack to mount this unit on my Nissan patrol. I currently have an aluminium arb roof rack
Ian - 5108(6 years ago)
These don't come with specifications for a roof rack sorry, Ian, they come with two aluminium rails into which various bracket can be fitted into to suit a wide variety of roof racks. You will need to make sure your roof rack is rated to carry the weight of the rooftop tent, an ARB roof rack is more than likely going to be fine.
This isn't a simple topic. There are differences between weight rating for a dynamic load and a static load. Most roof racks are rated to around 80-100kg for safe highway travel (dynamic load), and an empty rooftop tent usually weighs less than this. You should also consider the roof rating for your vehicle which is now the weight of the roof rack plus rooftop tent.
Now... the weight of 2 people plus tent is in excess of 200kg, but your vehicle is stationary (static load) whilst set up at camp and the dynamic load that could be generated at 100kph is removed.
This is what I have found out through my research, I don't claim to be an expert on the topic and suggest that you do your own research relevant to your set up.
