The Black Wolf Grasshopper 2 is distinguished from other 3-Season two-person tents by innovative pole configuration that gives it the stability of a dome tent, good headroom and two convenient entrances with convenient vestibules covering both.
The ripstop polyester PU fly and floor materials and heat-taped seams ensure water repellency in bad weather, while the dual side vestibules are invaluable for storing your boots, pack, and even your wet or muddy gear out of your sleeping space. Pitching is easy, as the poles, pole end webbing and clips are colour coded which make pitching super-fast. This tent features a tear drop shaped door with zips all around on either side, which makes accessing the Grasshopper easy.
There is excellent air flow through ventilation from the mesh inner, plus extra vents in the fly. The reflective strips mean the tent is easy for you to locate at night, while during the day the ecologically friendly green colour blends in with the environment.

Does the black wolf grasshopper 2 have more sleeping space than the black wolf mantis ULII?
Vaughn - Kiama(8 years ago)
G'day Vaughn,
Technically the Matis II actually has slightly more sleeping area as its 210cm x 140cm whereas the Grasshopper 2 is 200cm x 130cm.
Bear in mind the design though as the Grasshopper will feel roomier because of the top floating pole whereas the fly of the Mantis comes in at a sharper angle, therefore, cutting off headroom and the feeling of spaciousness.

Temperature rating.1 answer
Is this tent rated for use / recommended for use in Australia's snow alpine areas during winter?
Rohan - CHILTERN, VIC(8 years ago)
G’day Rohan, as a general rule tents don’t come with a temperature ratings, so it’s hard to give you a black and white answer. The Grasshopper 2 is more of a 3 season tent, as it’s got a mesh interior which makes it breezier. The Grasshopper would withstand a light smattering of snow (approx. 5mm) but heavier snowfall may collect on the dome roof. Something like the Black Wolf Isopod is probably more suitable for mild snow as its interior is nylon, so it’ll trap warmth better than the Grasshopper. Also it’s vertical sides shed snow more efficiently which stops build up on top of the tent. Keep in mind the Isopod is currently out of stock on our website until mid-August.
