With the Coleman Northstar Instant UP 10 DarkRoom tent having tow separate rooms would a pair of Goanna stretchers fit in each room? Thank you
G'day Pietro,
This is a bit of a tricky question to answer. The answer is essentialy yes, but only sort of yes! If you run the stretchers across ways in the rooms then you can fit two side by side, but one person will need to clamber over the other to make it work. If you run them front to back with the door between the centre room and the side bedroom being the front, then the stretchers will touch on the outside edge of the tent, causing some tension on the fabric which can be an issue in wet weather, and condensation. Check out the features video on the 10P Darkroom Tent at the 10-minute mark as Ben shows the size, and adds a mattress that gives an idea of how much depth/width you'll have at the stretcher height.
Hi Can you fit 2 stretchers in a RV3 Thanks Neil
G'day Neil,
You'll struggle to fit two stretchers into the RV3, they are too long to fit front to bag with the slop of the rear section of the tent. You can just fit two width ways, however you'll have to climb over the other stretcher to get in, and it will use all of the space inside the tent. Have a look at the last minute or so of the features video as Ben pops a stretcher inside the tent so you can get an idea for size and fit.
Hi, would having 2 of these stretchers together with a mattress on top be ok for a comfy sleep or better off getting a double or queen stretcher instead. To be used within RV 4.
G'day Nathan,
You could use two single stretchers with a mattress over the top, however you'll end up with a double bar in the centre. We'd probably suggest a double or queen stretcher as it will only have a single bar in the middle, which might lead to a slightly more comfortable option. The RV4 might be a tiny bit small for this setup, so it might be worth considering the RV5 if you don't already have the tent.
Hi , would 2 of these stretchers fit easily in a Black Wolf Turbo 240 X-lite LF tent with some room to spare for 2 teenagers ?
G'day Bill,
Two Oztent Goanna Stretchers will fit well inside the Black Wolf Turbo 240 X-Lite Tent. There should be enough room to have a central space clear, and then plenty of room under the stretchers for bags and shoes etc.
Hi There, Is it recommended to place a mattress on top of this stretcher when sleeping? If so, could you recommend one from your site please?
G'day Adam,
You don't need to use a mattress on the Oztent Goanna Stretcher, but you'll find it will add both comfort and much better insulation from the cold air underneath. A couple of suggestions that would fit well would be the Oztrail Camp Mat, the Zempire Monstamat Single Camp Mat and the Sea to Sumit DLX SI Sleeping Mat RW.
Would
G'day Trent,
The Zempire Single Megamat will be a little too wide and long for the Oztent Gonna Stretcher. You'd be best suited with the Oztent King Goanna Stretcher.
How would you recommend cleaning the stretcher? Thanks
G'day Anna,
As a 27-year-old bloke, I am definitely no expert on the matter of cleanliness! So, I've asked our customer service ninja and mum of 3, Susie. for some help! She suggested that to clean your Oztent Goanna Stretcher, you'd be on to a winner to get yourself some Martha Gardner Woold Mix and to scrub it into your material. Then simply rinse your stretcher bed off and allow it to dry before packing away. Unfortunately, the material doesn't come off of the frame of the bed.
The catalogue only mentions it fitting RV3 and up oztents.
G'day Laura,
The Oztent Goanna Stretcher is only 190L x 66W x 40H cm so it will easily fit inside the Oztent RV2 which has a space allowance of 200L x 200W cm.
I gather there is a support bar where the centre legs are.
Hi Celia,
The cross leg in the middle of the frame doesn't actually have a support bar across, so you won't feel anything except for the padded stretcher Celia.
will the darche 900 mat fit on this stretcher? is this stretcher quick and easy to set up or isn't there an easier one? also is there a stretcher that the exped double will fit on?
Hi Emma,
After comparing the specs, it seems that the Darche 900 mat is a little too long and wide for the Goanna stretcher (which measures 190L x 66W x 40H cm) so it will overhang about 24cm - so it might not be the best option for this stretcher.
The Goanna stretcher is quite easy to use as it just unfolds – the only thing you have to do is secure the end bars to complete the set up.Â
And as for the Exped Megamat Duo, this mat will fit best on the Oztrail Easy Fold Queen Mat with a bit of room on the side as that's our widest stretcher.Â
hi do oztent make a queen size stretcher thanks
Unfortunately they don't Peter. We do have a couple of double stretchers in our range, have a look at the Oztrail Easy Fold Queen Stretcher or the Zempire Twin Speedy Stretcher Bed.
Looking for a wider option but maximum length of 190 cm please advise if you have anything that you would recommend
G'day Darren,
From having a look at our entire range in store and comparing the dimensions it seems that the Coleman Big Sky Bed is the only bed that's under 190cm that's also wider than the Goanna stretcher at 68cm.
It also comes with it's own mattress which is a bit of a bonus, which is actually quite comfy from trying it in store.Â
Hi, Does this stretcher fit front to back in a RV3 tent?
Hi Mias, the dimensions of the RV3 are 2m long x 2.4m wide and the Gecko Stretcher is 190cm long so it should just squeeze in front to back in the RV3.
G'day Lisa, the Oztent Goanna Stretcher is a great option for kids because it is a little bit narrower and shorter than your average stretcher, and it leaves a bit of extra room for growth spurts.
Why do the bars hang out so far, one side longer than the other?
G'day Simon,
The bar that extends further out is to help give you something to hold onto while tensioning and fitting the bar in place.
would these fit in the jv signature series tent (2) or is the tent just too small for stretcher beds?
Do you have more photos of the gecko and goanna stretcher. A photo of the underneath of the stretcher would be appreciated too.
