Can you use it without the filter part?1 answer
Hi there, Does this bottle still work to drink out of without the filter component? I.e. if I have access to clean water it would be good to be able to use it without, to avoid having to take more than one bottle.
Fiona - Ringwood, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Fiona,
You can absolutely use your bottle without a filter cartridge. You'll have to tip the bottle upwards to access the water though, as there's no normal compatible bottle straw. Hope that helps!

Can this filter the chemical and heavy metal?1 answer
Some tap water taste very funny I think too much chemical or metal
Crystal zeng - Sydney(5 years ago)
G'day Crystal,
The Go Water Filter Bottle won't filter out chemicals or heavy metals, however, the Go 2 Stage Water Filter Bottle has a carbon filter that will reduce chlorine, pesticides, herbicides and bad odour from your water.

Are the Lifestraw Filter Bottles suitable for use at high altitude?1 answer
do the filters freeze at high altitude?
Mary - James(6 years ago)
G'day Mary,
I've just checked the specifications from Lifestraw and they recommend usage between 1 and 60 degrees Celsius. So if the temperature is likely to be zero or below where you're headed then the temperature might cause damage to the filter. The altitude alone shouldn't cause too many issues.

Does this filter out viruses?1 answer
I see this filters bacteria & protozoa - does it filter out viruses?
Traill - Toowoomba(6 years ago)
G'day Traill,
The Go Water Filter Bottle has a 0.2 Micron filter so while it can filter out bacteria and protozoa it isn't guaranteed to filter out viruses. Most viruses are 0.01 - 0.3 microns in diameter so might slip through. To be 100% sure you'd need to boil, treat with a UV purifier, treat with Katadyn tablets, or use a virus approved filter like the MSR Guardian Water Purifier.

Combo treatment1 answer
Can chlorine tablets be used in combo against viruses
Lesley - Ngunnawal(6 years ago)
G'day Lesley,
Yeah, you certainly can use water purification tablets in conjunction with your Lifestraw bottle. It's always a great idea to double up like this if you're really uncertain about the water quality. Better safe than sorry!

I need a new Bottle1 answer
I need a new bottle, can I use a Camelbak bottle?
Alicia - SA(6 years ago)
G'day Alicia,
You can definitely use a Camelbak bottle with the Go Filter Lid and Straw. It will fit in the 750mL Eddy or Chute bottle, but to give the filter plenty of space at the bottom I would recommend going for the 1L size.

Lifestraw1 answer
Hi, how many litres is one straw good for?
Nathan Johnson - Orange(6 years ago)
G'day Nathan,
You'll get around 1000L from the filter in the Go Water Filter Bottle. This might vary a little depending on the quality of the water you're filtering through it.
