A gas hose that enables devices utilising disposable 465g LPG/Propane canisters to run from refillable LPG cylinders with a POL fitting.
Converts disposable 465g LPG canister fitting (sometimes referred to as Coleman fitting, BOM or UNEF) to POL cylinders.
Is there a hose to attach to hyper flame arm to a gas bayonet on a caravan
G'day Ben,
No, theres not. Coleman stoves are not compatible with caravan or camper trailer bayonet systems.
The gas regulation they require is specific to Coleman, and the fixed regulator arm is the only one that can be used.
They must just be connected directly to an unregulated gas bottle.
Will i need a lpg gas reg on the hose or bottle if im connecting my hyperflame to a 9kg
G'day Paul,
The Coleman stoves come with their own customer regulator arm, which is attached to the stove itself.
They cannot be used without this, so if you want to run from a gas bottle (it comes with its own hose) you attach the hose to the end of that fixed arm - at the same point you would connect a disposable propane cyclinder.
Can I make my Gasmate portable stove use a 2kg POL-fitting gas bottle by using this hose?
G'day James,
Its not recommended, no. Using hoses, etc from other brands may cause issues with a warranty claim if you were to run into problems down the line.
Depending on your stove there will also be information in your manual about whether or not it is compatible with other hose styles and which types.
We're not able to make recommendations outside of this, something like a 3/8th BSP to POL adapter may be a better bet so you are still using your original hose.
Make sure you're executing the leak tests, etc when you are connecting up gas, especially with an adapter & all should be well.
I have an older camping stove with a hose attached (cannot be changed) and fitting for a BOM/UNEF bottle. I understand if I want to run this from a bigger LPG bottle with POL, this hose would do the job. However, somewhere else on your website I’ve read that the total hose length shouldn’t be too long. With the hose attached to the stove (about 50 cm) and this hose (150 cm) this would take it to about 200 cm. Would this be a concern?
G'day Roland,
Much too long I would say, I've not seen a camping stove that will allow a hose longer than 1.2m, or 1.5m as the absolute max.
Your best bet would be to contact your local gas fitting retailer and get a BOM/UNEF to POL adapter that is just a small brass fitting that will screw into your large gas bottle.
Will this fit a 14kg Lpg gas bottle?
G'day Nicole,
It depends on the fitting that your gas bottle has.
If it's a POL gas bottle, then it sure will.
Hi is this suitable for converting the primus kinjia stove to run on std bbq gas cylinders? thanks
G'day Mat,
We don't sell the Kinjia, however from what I can read this stove is certified to operate off 80% Butane, 20% Propane mix. You won't be able to run it off of a standard Gas cylinder.
Can be used with a smaller bottle(4kg) instead of the 9kg one? its for a buddy heater
G'day Serg,
Yes you can use this hose with a 4kg bottle, it will just need to be a 4kg bottle with the POL fitting.
I have just purchased the “portable buddy radiant heater”. I intend to run this from my 9.0 kg bottle on my camper. Do I need anything additional to this hose for safe usage?
G'day David,
Yes the Coleman COM/UNEF to POL High-Pressure Gas Stove is the correct hose to use the Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater from a 9kg gas bottle with POL fitting.
Would this work with a Weber baby Q?
G'day Murray,
Good question, unfortunately, we're really not too sure as we don't sell weber. The trick will be to work out what the fitting at the weber end of the system is. Your best bet will be to reach out to a weber dealer and they should be able to let you know what fitting it is.
I have a high pressure burner with automatic ignition from Austcrown P/L model No HPA100LPB. Fitting 1/4” BSPM 60 coned. Does your regulator fit my burner?
G'day Maggie,
You need a regulator that has a 1/4" BSP (male) 60° coned fitting. This not the product for you, I'm sorry. Unfortunately, we don't sell anything suitable for your stove.
Or can you add in an extension using joining nipples?
G'day Warwick,
I've just checked this out for you, and this particular hose doesn't come in a longer size. We also wouldn't recommend making any modifications to a gas hose just for safety reasons. I hope that answered your questions, Warwick.
I am about to purchase a Coleman fyreknight stove. I will be using a refillable 4.5kg gas bottle. Will the stove come with everything I need or do I need to buy one of these.
G'day Jenni,
The Fyreknight hose is supplied with the same hose as this but it has a 3/8"BSP fitting on the end, you can attach the supplied hose to a 4.5kg with a POL to 3/8"BSP adapter
Can it match with Coleman HyperFlame FyreKnight Camping Stove?
G'day Eric,
Yes - if you're looking to connect to a POL gas bottle fitting, the BOM fitting will attach to any Coleman Stove including the Hyperflame Fyreknight.
Hi there, will this work with the Northstar lantern? These lanterns used to come with an adapter to run off a 3kg bottle, they no longer do.
G'day Andy,
I'm guessing you're referring to the old gas version of the Northstar Lantern as we currently only sell the Duel Fuel version. Looking at some listings for these in the states they appear to attach to the Coleman disposable propane canisters which are a BOM fitting. The hose wouldn't work as the lantern requires the gas bottle to keep it upright. Theoretically, you could use the UNEF to 3/8 BSP Adapter to run your lantern from a 3kg gas bottle.
It has the Bom fitting and takes the 450g screw on cartridges but I would like to use a larger bottle.
G'day Paul,
We don't stock the HP Cadac so it's a hard one to offer you any guarantees on mate. Theoretically, if your stove has the BOM fitting then you should be able to use this hose to connect an LPG cylinder with a POL fitting. However, we strongly recommend you consult a qualified gas specialist as this kind of thing can be pretty dangerous to play around with. Sorry I couldn't give you a more definite answer! Cheers
Hi, I would like to use Coleman Propane Fuel Light bottle with Weber Baby Q Q1000 Do I need this hose to be able to connect BBQ with gas bottle? https://www.bigw.com.au/product/coleman-propane-fuel-light-weight-lpg-bottle/p/8317203/
Hi Ross, from memory, the Weber hose has the regulator integrated, and we don't have one of these hoses with an integrated regulator, sorry.
Please don't try and use one of these with your Baby Q, I think things will get dangerous. You may need to speak to a plumber or gas fitter to see if they have a solution.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
Thanks for your help
G'day Paul,
The Coleman Eventemp stove should have been supplied with a small right-angled regulator and the Coleman Gas Hose Coleman/BOM/UNEF to 3/8 BSP. However, if you no longer have the hose then this hose will screw to the regulator at one end and a 3/8" BSP thread gas cylinder. If you're wanting to run the stove from a larger 4.5 or 9kg POL gas cylinder then you would need the Gas Hose Coleman/BOM/UNEF to POL hose.
I’ve got the Coleman hyperflame fore knight camp stove. Currently, I need to run the Coleman pressure regulator (rigid line from stove to regulator) in order to run the flexible hose to the lpg bottle. Can this hose be used to go straight from the stove to the gas bottle? I really am looking for something to get rid of the rigid line from the stove and was hoping this would enable me to do this. Cheers Nick
G'day Nick,
I'm going to be the bearer of bad news I'm sorry. You need to always go through the regulator arm on the Coleman FyreKnight, it can't be avoided sadly.
What length is this
G'day Brian,
I've just measured the Coleman Gas Hose BOM/UNEF to POL and it is 1.5m.
I have the companion version purchased at the same time as Mr heater potable buddy. Do I need to use it with a regulator to use with Mr buddy heater and 9kgs bottle?
G'day James,
As long as your 9kg bottle has a POL fitting this hose will work fine with your Primus Mr Heater Portable Buddy Heater without a regulator.
Have a Jet boil Sumo. What to be able to connect to a 9kg POL bottle on longer trips. are these compatible? Also is the BOM connection hose pressed on or threaded? As I would like to put a brass elbow on it with a tripod in lieu of the jet boil disposable cannister.
G'day John,
Unfortunately, what you are looking to do isn't possible. The Jetboil Sumo requires a specific Isobutane/Propane fuel mix which is different to the Propane fuel mix in standard 'BBQ' gas bottles. From further research, all Jetboil products must also be compatible with valves made to the EN417 specification which is not adaptable to gas bottle (POL or 3/8") fittings.
The BOM fitting is a threaded connection, however, this is a different fitting again which is usually used in Coleman gas products, not 'BBQ' gas bottles or Jetboils.
While I appreciate your idea to recreate your Jetboil set-up, we would recommend that you don't adapt or reconfigure any gas fittings without consulting a professional gas fitter who can then include the Australian Gas Association (AGA) to legally approve any gas work safe for use.
