Hi, could I use a gasmate lantern directly with this adapter on a 9kg cylinder?

You could use this adapter to connect a Gasmate lantern to your 9kg cylinder. One thing to note is that the valve tap may or may not get in the way of the lantern depending on the make of the bottle.

Will this work with a light and pole?1 answer

To use a gas light and pole, the fitting needs to point straight up. When you screw in the POL fitting, can you keep the 3/8 fitting pointing up or does it rotate as you screw it in?

G'day Nick,

If you've got a POL bottle then you'd need a right angle adapter, however if you're using a pole there isn't anything on these fittings to really make sure the pole remains upright and stabilised. We'd stronly recommend grabbing yourself a POL pole that comes with built-in stabilisers. If you don't want to go with that option then we'd just suggest proceeding with caution, but yes the screw mechanism to attach the adapter to POL means that you can keep the 3/8" BSP pointing up as you screw it in.

G'day Arne,

I'm a little confused by your question as most 2way fridges will have a hose that has an inbuilt regulator and POL fitting which you'll find as a swap and go. If you're wanting to run your stove and it has a 3/8" BSP fitting on the hose then this will do the job, but you don't need the right angle version, you'd likely be better off with the straight version.

The POL - 3/8" BSP LH Right Angle will work in connecting a Primus Gas Stove to a 9kg 'swap and go' bottle. Another option that will work is available here.

You'll definately need the adaptor to fit a 3/8 connector to a POL cyclinder but it depends on the appliance as to whether you need a regulator or not.
