After what I consider minimal use, my x-bowl is starting to develop small slits where the material folds when collapsed. I like the fact these bowls collapse flat and can be stored as a unit inside a x-pot, but is this new range more durable with thicker material than the original x-bowl?

G'day Brett,
They're pretty similar from what we can tell. It depends on how old your x-bowl is, storage conditions, what you're putting in it, etc. I have had a large range of the x gear for anywhere between 1-4 years, and never had any issues with the silicone splitting. Sea to Summit are always tweeting and improving their gear, but there's no specific info on thickness, etc changing.
