Can this be used with a disposable propane bottle?
G'day Alyshia,
No, this Cooker isn't able to be run from a disposable propane canister.
Hi all, can I use this on a table top (Polyethylene) or does it transfer too much heat underneath?
G'day Emma,
In general, we'd recommend using gas burners on tabletops that are made from steel, aluminium or bamboo as they tend to be a lot more heat resistant, however as long as you're using the framed burner as specified, and your cooking pot isn't oversize and pushing heat back down, then it should be ok on a polyethylene style tabletop.
Hi, just wondering how many BTUs this burner is rated to?
G'day Ryan,
The Framed single burner has an output of 11770 BTU.
Is this powerful enough to get a 15 litre pot of water to boil in a reasonable amount of time? Thanks
G'day Di,
This is a really great question, requiring abit of maths!
If we work off the general premise of 3.75litre requires approx 1,178.6 BTUs to boil in 1 hour (Converted from 1gal US), we can work out that 15ltrs requires approx 4,714.5 BTUs to boil in an hour.
As the Companion Framed Single Burner has 11,770BTUs we can assume it will take approx 25mins to boil 15ltrs.
While maths is an awesome tool, these calculations are based on the heat transferred from your burner to your water being 100% efficient. Unfortunately, due to so many variables, it is unlikely that this 100% heat transfer efficiency will happen.
Hypothetically, if its 50% efficient, you can assume approx 50mins to boil.
Either way, it would work out to be less than an hour.
Hope that helps!
Can we get a replacement of the POL gas regulator for the Companion single framed Single Burner ?
G'day Caesar,
Outdoor connection makes a replacement regulated hose that fits this stove in 3 different lengths. You can find the link HERE
How do I get it back to original colour as by mistake it has been left in sun/ rain and it looks like the colour changed to rusty
G'day Mina,
You could scrub back the rust with steel wool and wipe it off, then spray or wipe it with oil to stop the rust from re-forming. Essentially the best option will be to keep it out of the weather as best you can.
Hey guys, do you know if the legs can be removed and have the stove mounted in a
G'day Rowan,
I've just had a quick look at the Companion Framed Single Burner for you and the legs are all screwed into place. So, you'd be able to unscrew and remove them if you wanted to.
Hi guys, Do you guys stock / sell the controller knob attachment (the gold / silver part) as I managed to break mine? Thanks.
G'day Fernando,
This isn't a spare part we carry, but we're looking to whether we can source one for you and we'll get back to you ASAP.
G'day Fernando,
I've spoken with Companion and unfortunately, they don't sell the knob as a spare part. We've advised them that this is maybe something they would want to look into doing. In the meantime, we've even looked through our warranties area to see if we could scrap one from a returned stove, but unfortunately, there isn't anything available.
Do you have 3 rings burner with frame? The one i found is only 2 rings with frame. Thank you
G'day Vera,
We do have a 3 ring burner with a frame. It can be found here.
Hi Snowys, I recently received my order, however there weren't any assembly instructions. Just want to make sure I did everything properly given it's a gas appliance. Thanks.
G'day Matt,
I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received the instruction manual, it should be in there so I'm not sure how that could be missing. I've contacted the supplier about a PDF version of the manual and they've said they will get back to me so I will let you know as soon as I hear from Companion.
Hi Matt,
I do apologise about the delay, but I've received the PDF version of the manual which should have the care and safety instructions included which I've attached to the product page below the specs.
As far as I can tell there aren't assembly instructions in there, but Companion have told me that all you need to do is attach the legs. Any concerns about proper use should be covered in material, so hopefully the manual will give you all the info you need.
