There's a firepit - then there's a packable, portable unit which completely debunks the old saying, 'where there’s smoke there’s fire'. The FirePit+ from BioLite is the smokeless solution, loaded with state-of-the-art tech.
BioLite has kept all the famed features of the original FirePit, such as patented airflow technology ensurting hyper-efficient flames and clean combustion. The x-ray mesh on the stove body gives a mesmerising view of a floating fire, while the adjustable rack can be used with both charcoal or wood as fuel. The Firepit+ also has a durable enamel coating and larger perforations within the mesh, allowing a more radiant heat. It has 20% more runtime, with device-charging from the upgraded 12,800mAh battery offering over 28 hours of power on the low setting and easy recharging via USB.
This unit can be controlled manually or remotely from the free compatible Bluetooth app, while the folding legs and separately available Carry Bag make it super portable wherever you're transporting from. Plus, harness the flames to cook delicious hibachi-style meals using a removable grill grate.
Experience the warmth and atmosphere of a campfire, without the smoke - with the innovative FirePit+ from BioLite.

Hi Ben, BioLite specifically state in their user manual (section 10 of the guide linked above if you want to read it in full) that the firepit should be stored in a dry location.
We recommend that this be in a garage or storage shed as even moisture in the outside air can have an effect over years of use, and the battery pack in particular is best stored away from any moisture.
It's a great firepit, but not one that is designed to be left out in the open all the time.

PiZZA OR BAKING STONE?1 answer
Is there a pizza or baking stone available to fit this pit?
DMc - WA(3 years ago)
G'day,
There isn't a compatible pizza stone available for the Biolite Firepit, either by Biolite or aftermarket. Pizza Stones are often available in varying sized round pieces, where as the firepit is quite narrow and rectangular. With some baking paper and carefully controlled temperature you could probably bake a pizza in the Biolite Griddle.

Charging1 answer
Can the fire charge your devices as the smaller campstove does?
Coral - Pakenham, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Coral,
This firepit has a portable battery pack attached that can power small accessories like lights or charge things like mobile phones. Unlike the smaller Camp Stove this unit doesn't have a thermoelectric generator so it will need to be charged via 240/12v.

G'day Elly,
No, the FirePit doesn't come with a storage bag, but you can purchase one separately here.

height1 answer
How high does it stand off the ground and would it be classes as enclosed like a ozpig for use on Fraser island
Wayne - Gordon Park, QLD(3 years ago)
G'day Wayne,
When in use, the FirePit stands at 41cm high. You'd need to check with the relevant authorities on Fraser Island, but I don't think they would classify this as an enclosed fire like an ozpig.

Fan noise1 answer
The earlier model was apparently annoyingly noisy with the fan at full speed. Is this model better?
Phil - Lennox Head, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Phil,
The fan being too noisy at full speed is, ultimately, subjective and depends on who you speak to. With all fans, either stand-alone or within appliances, the noise increases with the speed. As this is not actually an issue per say, there have been no amendments to the fan in the new version Hope that helps!
