A perfect tent for smaller families or a bunch of mates heading away for the weekend, with a bunch of features, the Fast Frame BlockOut 6P Tent from OZtrail will have you set up and kicking back in no time.
True to its name, the BlockOut has a coating on the fly to block daylight by up to 95% and reduce heat inside the tent by up to 10°. There’s also ClimaTech™ vents for enhanced airflow and No-See-Um Mesh panels throughout for total insect protection and maximum ventilation. Large front and rear doors allow easy access, and the Twin Hub Frame system increases headroom, internal space and strength.
With a vestibule and awning for additional living and storage, as well as a Duraplus vestibule pole for added headroom, the Fast Frame BlockOut 6P Tent from OZtrail is a true-blue OZ winner.
For smaller families or shorter trips
BlockOut Technology™ reduces sunlight by up to 95% and heat by up to 10 degrees
ClimaTech™ vents for enhanced airflow
Fast Frame system allows set up in minutes
Twin Hub Frame system for stability and internal space
Staff tip:The BlockOut material can present a 'speckle' effect, allowing some light to pass through. This is normal due to the process of applying the dark coating, which is designed to block up to 95% of light.
I notice that some of the fastframe windows have zippered gussets on windows so that they are weather proof when open but it is not clear of this model had this feature. Could you please clarify ?
Bruce - Windsor, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Bruce,
The current models of Fast Frame Tents we have don't have the gusseted windows. They do have zips down each side and are able to completely roll up, or you can also peg out the windows with the attached guy ropes.

Rear vestibule pole?1 answer
I used all poles provided except the rear grey vestibule pole, where does this enter into or attach to? There didn't seem to be any access points for the ends of it to connect, but it worked fine without it anyway. Thanks
Darren - Gold Coast, QLD(1 year ago)
G'day Darren,
I have one of these tents and came across the same thing! I found the rear vestibule pole threads through the pole sleeve under the top of the rear door, then there is one loop of fabric on each side of the tent where the ends slot into. It is hidden on the underside of the fly, but once in it holds out the vestibule nicely.

Tent comparison1 answer
Oztrail fast frame cabin tent or Coleman North Star dark room tents
Gene - Caringbah South, NSW (1 year ago)
They are very similar. The Instant Up tents have been around for longer but the Fast Frame offering appear to be on par with quality. I'd recommend choosing based on featuers and price.

Is This an Oztrail Lumos Without the Lighting?1 answer
As above, is the only difference that it doesn't have the lighting led's and powerpack options? Does it still have the place to put ones own lighting system - including storage for a power pack? Thanks in advance.
Lea - Zeehan, TAS(1 year ago)
G'day Lea,
Yep, basically. It doesn't have the same storage or provisions for a lighting system like the lumos, but it does have the ability to hang a lantern or interior light.

Coleman comparison1 answer
How does this tent compare to the Coleman gold series? Which do you think is the better product/value for money?
Luke - Canberra, ACT(4 years ago)
G'day Luke,
Coleman has been making their 6P Lighted Northstar Tent for a number of years, and we've been pretty impressed with it, they have great reviews, are easy to set up, and made from excellent quality materials.
Oztrail has only been making the BlockOut Tents for about 6 months, and so far they seem to be ok. In terms of materials and quality, they look fairly similar, however so far our only review on the Oztrail isn't great.
Overall it's up to personal preference, but the Coleman is a winner in our books.

Vestibule 1 answer
What are the dimensions inside the vestibule when zipped up?
Aaron - Melbourne (4 years ago)
G'day Aaron,
Unfortunately, we don't have a display model to measure, and Oztrail doesn't have this information available. Based on what we do know, the internal vestibule is around 1.2m from the outside lower edge to the internal door when zipped shut.

Tarp1 answer
Hey there, what size tarp would be best to go under this tent. I'd like it to also extend into the vestibule to provide a floor? Thanks!
Kelly - Northcote(4 years ago)
G'day Kelly,
The Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp in the 3.05 x 4.88m will be a good size to extend under the front vestibule. The 3.05 x 6.1m is also a good size option if you'd like tarp underneath the front vestibule and awning area when set up as an awning as well.
