While the whole point of family camping trips is to spend time together, sometimes you still need the feeling of privacy which you can only get from a closed-off space. That’s why the OZtrail Family 10 Dome Tent is such a great option, as has two private bedrooms that are separated by a living area, so you can camp together, but not have to all sleep squished in one room.
With enough space to stand up inside, you’ll be able to get in and out of this tent with no trouble. The solid inner tent will keep you warmer in cold climates, and when the weather heats up you can open the windows to expose the No-see-um mesh for ventilation and insect protection. Similarly, the fly will keep you dry in the rain as it has heat taped seams, and the UVtex treatment will protect from the harsh sun while also making the fabric completely waterproof.
You can use the awnings as shelter, just peg them out and you’ll have some shade on a warm day. For a comfortable and roomy family camping experience, you can rely on the OZtrail Family Dome Tent range. Give you and your fellow campers the space and comfort they need with a reliable and functional tent like the Family 10 Dome Tent from OZtrail.
Portico pole design for head height
Organiser pocket and loft storage
All season inner that can be sealed for warmth or opened for ventilation
Just wanted to know how bright it is inside the tent as we have little kids and don't need them up at the crack of dawn?

G'day Megan,
The Oztrail Family 10 Dome Tent has a started fly so it will let a fair amount of light in each morning. If you wanted a tent with a fly that will block the light and get the little ones up later then one of the Coleman Instant Up Darkroom models may suit you better.

Wind strength1 answer
Hiya, I just wondered if these tents have a particular rating for strength in wind? We are looking to buy one but just want to make sure it will be sturdy enough as we get strong winds here!! It says 4 season so would assume it’s ok but it doesn’t appear to be mentioned anywhere?
Rob - Wellington(6 years ago)
G'day Rob,
I've done a bit of reading through the Oztrail catalogue and I can't find any reference to a wind rating sorry. The dome style tent is pretty strong but as with any large touring tent make sure you peg all the guy ropes out securely and you should be fine in all but the worst conditions. The 4 season reference doesn't just refer to the pole structure but also to the inner as it can be totally zipped up to keep the cold wind out.

Tent pegs1 answer
We ruined a few of our tent pegs on some hard ground this weekend so need to buy some replacements and spares. Can you please tell me what size this tent comes with so I can order the next size up?
Nerida - Maroubra(7 years ago)
G'day Nerida,
I've just opened up one of the Oztrail Family 10 Dome Tents from the shop floor and grabbed out a peg to measure. I reckon the best bet for the next size up would be one of the Poles Apart Galvanised Steel Tent Pegs in the 225mm long.

INner walls1 answer
Hello
Are the interior walls separating the 3 rooms mesh or solid? For example, would someone in one room be able to get changed without the person in the next room being able to see through the closed interior wall?
Thanks for your help.

G'day Gemma,
We don't have the Oztrail Family 10 Dome Tent on display so I'm unable to check, but I'm confident that the internal walls are solid walls which provide you with a reasonable level of privacy that you're after.

Awning poles1 answer
Does the tent come with poles for all the awnings? And if not, which ones do you recommend for this ten?
Nerida - 2036(7 years ago)
G'day Nerida,
The Oztrail Family 10 Dome Tent comes included with 2 awning poles, however, if you'd like additional poles, the Oztrail Awning Poles are available here.

Inner tent1 answer
Are all the windows in the tent inner able to be zipped shut? To completely block any breeze/cold air?
we have an oztrail currently but it has a complete mesh inner and it is freezing when camping in the colder weather - so we don't want to make the same mistake again!

G'day Jen,
Nothing worse than a frosty breeze when you're trying to sleep at night!
Unfortunately we don't have the Family 10 Dome Tent on display, but I've just had a look at Oztrail's website, and it says on there that the inner tent has polyester window panels which can be fully closed, which will retain heat when the weather is cooler - which you can have a look at here.
