Thank you for replay. How far do the arms come from car.and what is the total coverage of the awning .my bars are 1200 apart so no worries with that.and do they sell a wall kit and can you buy extra poles
David - Portland North, VIC(3 weeks ago)
G'day David,
The front arm by the passenger door comes out approximately 1495mm from the awning base, the 3 next arms vary slightly in length but are close to 1585mm each, and the back 2 arms are about 1635mm. The total coverage of the awning is 8 sqm.
They currently do not have a wall kit to suit the Mini Darkness that will enclose it completely. You can attach the Extreme Single Wall 2000mm which will help provide a wind block and provide extra shade. We also have the extra poles here - Extreme Range Single Leg (2.3m).

Roof Weight Rating - Legal Limit1 answer
As I understand it the roof load rating is 25Kg, by attaching this awning to any roof rack or bars would exceed the rating and thus nullify the insurance. Have I got the roof rating incorrect. I note the one picture has the awning, a RTT and other attachments, estimate 60kg minimum. How is this being legally achieved? I would like to do similar but wish to stay legal.

G'day Gavin,
Roof load rating is specific to the vehicle, so it will depend on the manufacturer's specifications for your specific vehicle. You should check your vehicle rating using your model or VIN number with the manufacturer. They range from somewhere in the 30-40kg range for smaller 4WDs, up to 80-100kg for some of the larger 4WDs.
