The Expedition Compass from Silva is a traditional baseplate compass that caters to professionals and experienced adventurers.
The housing of the compass is made from easy to handle Dryflex material, there are silicon rubber feet for precise map work, a detachable lanyard with a safety-release function, and luminous markings for night time use. It also has 1:25,000, 1:50,000 and GPS scales, magnifying lens, a clinometer for measuring slope angle, and built-in adjusters for magnetic declination. This compass has a slope card which helps you to calculate an avalanche risk and to determine any extra distance you need to go because of the slope.
The lanyard has two scales and is bendable so you can put it straight on the route of your map, and the updated graphics make this compass easier to read out in the field. If you need a compass for navigation that has high-end features, the Expedition from Silva is ideal.
