The MSR Elixir 2 Hiking and Backpacking Tent comes complete with everything you need for the full gamut of freestanding pitching options.
The included footprint enables setup with or without the fly or as an ultralight single skin shelter for fast and light adventures. Two large StayDry™ entrances and vestibules with built-in rain gutters team up with a roomy interior that offers true space for two people.

What is the setup for the minimum weight for this tent?
Cameron - Engadine(7 years ago)
G'day Cameron,
From my understanding with MSR, the minimum weight is if you were to remove the inner tent and just use the fly.

Setup fly first.1 answer
Hi. Is it possible to setup the fly first then the mesh body? I ask this becausr of the chance it might be raining and i dont want the inside of the tent wet.
Adrian - Cranbourne North (8 years ago)
G'day Adrian,
Using the included footprint with the MSR Elixir 2 Hiking Tent, you are able to set the poles and outer fly up first before then setting up the inner tent.

Which color do you have? Green? 1 answer
Hugo - North Freo(9 years ago)
Hi Hugo, the Elixir is only available in the light grey/red colour as pictured. The green colour you refer to is actually the material used in the previous MSR Backpacking Tent series. The products we have are the latest versions.

How many seasons is this tent designed for? 1 answer
Darius - KEYSBOROUGH (9 years ago)
Tent ratings aren't an exact science Darius, this tent would be classed as 3-4 season in that it has an inner consisting largely of solid nylon fabric with some mesh for ventilation. This will make it warmer for cold weather adventures but still offer adequate ventilation for warm climates. It is not designed to shed snow however, and is therefore unsuitable for heavy snow environments.
