The breathable, user-friendly, and spacious Coleman Weathermaster Elite 8 will shelter you and the whole family on your next outdoor adventure.
Good morning, will you be getting anymore of these tents back in stock?
G'day Nathan,
Sorry mate but I don't think we're going to be getting any more of the Weathermaster tents.
Just noticed that in one of the photos, number 3, it looks like the tent has an additional cover, dark fabric? The roof on the other photos is white? Is this an additional cover for the roof or a photo mistake?
G'day Mark,
I can see why it's a little confusing. The third photo on the Coleman Weathermaster 8 Tent is actually the tent without the flysheet over the top, the dark spots are the mesh that makes up the ceiling of the tent.
I have noticed the door of the tent on the picture and the door in the vedio are different. Can you please tell me which one you have in your stock.
G'day Duncan,
Sorry for our confusion on this one, good pick up! The door in the video is the correct door. We'll get the photo fixed up to reflect that as soon as possible.
Is this tent prone to condensation? Or does the ventilation work well, I'm concerned the water will come through the mesh room
G'day Trent,
I've just had a chat to the team, and they haven't heard of any specific feedback regarding the Weathermaster 8 and condensation.
But we would say that in general there are certain conditions (with any tent) where condensation may occur, which you can read more about here.
The fly of the Weathermaster does not rest on top of the tent (where the mesh is), so if it's pitched correctly you shouldn't have a problem. I hope this was helpful, Trent.
Would this be suitable for housing a king goanna stretcher?
G'day Trent,
You've got plenty of room in the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent, you'll not have any worries popping an Oztent King Goanna Stretcher in there.
Is the fan/light, wires and switch removable?
G'day Tyler,
The fan, light, wires and switch are all removable on the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent.
Alright so I'm about a week away from purchasing a tent, for about 5 months I've been looking at the Sportiva 9. But I am 14 , I'm a weekend camper I enjoy space and I want something rugged but at the same time want something relatively easy to set up, the Sportiva has 150D while the Weathermaster only has 90D if I remember correctly, but the practical benefits attract me like the self rolling windows, easy set up, easily accessible light switch, it's smaller so easier to light up, and is more practical for one person, yet the Sportiva in comparison has a lot more room and is more rugged with a longer life. So I'm not sure, help me out Thanks
G'day Trent,
The Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent is probably a little easier to set up than the Oztrail is but it's not a massive difference. Both tents will give you enough waterproofing. If you're a fan of the features on the Weathermaster, then there's probably no reason to justify going for the Oztrail instead.
It looks like the outer rooms narrow in width towards ends. What is the room width at the narrowest point?
We don't have this information at hand sorry Brett, and we don't have these on display to check for you either. From memory, the taper is only slight. I was able to cross-check the taper on a few other 2 and 3 room tents though, and they are all approximately 30-40cm narrower than the stated width at the far ends. I hope this helps.
So the tent comes with the light/fan plus the battery pack?
G'day Rafael,
I've just checked the bag of the display model to confirm, and yes this tent comes with the light/fan and an empty cartridge but not the actual batteries (those are sold separately).
Is this removable?
G'day Mia,
The self-closing door isn't removable from the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent, no. You can take the poles out of the door, which means you can have it open permanently but the door itself can't be totally removed.
Hi guys, The Coleman website has this listed as an instant tent. Is this right? I'm terrible at putting up tents.
G'day Mia,
I wouldn't classify the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent as being "instant" although it's certainly a lot easier to setup than other similar tents.
Hi, what is the exact dimensions of each room in the tent?
G'day Kris,
I've just measured the rooms on our display model of the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent for you. The two end rooms were both approximately 180 x 270cm and the middle room was approximately 150 x 270cm. It's worth noting too that the walls are removable, so you can make them bigger if you want to.
Does the tent include a battery pack or rechargeable battery for the CPX6 light & fan?
G'day Lachlan,
The Coleman Elite Weathermaster Tent comes with a battery pack that you'll need to put 4 D cell batteries in to run. You can also buy seperately the Coleman CPX 6 Rechargable Battery for it if you don't like the idea of having to buy D cell batteries to power it up.
Is the door D door?
G'day Li,
The door on the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent is a D-shape door, yes.
What size blow up airbeds can fit in the two sleeping sections as I think they are different sizes?
G'day Michael,
You shouldn't have any issues with getting a queen size airbed in each sleeping room of the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent.
How is the lighting system powered?
G'day Dave,
The lighting system in the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent is powered by the Coleman CPX6 Rechargeable Battery. You can charge the battery up before you head away or in your car, using the 12v charger.
I'm considering this tent vs the Oztrail Bungalow 9; I'll be using it mainly for 2 adults & 2 kids and no winter camping. In terms of practicality, anything to look out for when comparing the two?
G'day Greg,
Both the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 & the Oztrail Bungalow 9 are great tents but there are a couple of small things that set them apart. The Coleman is a little heavier and has fibreglass poles but it's a fair bit larger when packed down. The Oztrail is lighter and packs down smaller than the Coleman does, it's also got a slightly larger sleeping area.
are the two rooms identical in size?
G'day Tara,
I've just checked this with one of our tent experts and he told me that the Coleman Weather Master 8 Tent has two rooms that aren't the same size. One is about 1/3 of the tent whilst the other room is about 2/3 of the tent.
Hey Guys Moving back to Ireland and looking for a good tent in rain and (some) wind, Does the Elite stand up to this? Or is the mesh a bit breezy? Happy for alternate suggestions. Cheers Grant
G'day Grant,
First of all, I'm sure Australia will miss you on her shores! As for the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent, with a Waterhead rating of 2000mm, it should stand up to most rainy conditions that Ireland can throw at it. As for the wind, if you're pegging it down well and using all the guy ropes, then it should stand up to most (non-cyclonic) wind. If you're wanting something a touch hardier though, it might be worth investigating canvas tents.
I’m trying to decide between the Coleman elite and the Coleman instant up 8P. What sort of time time do you think it would take to put up the weather master tent. Also would you say there is much difference in quality between the two?
G'day Daniel,
I've just had a chat with our tent guru, Brock. He guessed that you'd be looking at about 30 minutes to set up the Coleman Elite Weathermaster 8 Tent. As for quality, you have some good aspects about both tents and it definitely comes down to what exactly it is you're wanting from your tent.
Hi, I'm looking at similar tents. As a comparison, if Coleman elite takes 30mins to set up, how long would the instant up 8p take?
Hi Andy,
As the Instant Up 8 has an all-in-one frame, when you first get it we would guess it might take you about 15 mins to set it up - including guy ropes etc. As you use it more and get the hang of it, you could shave some minutes off that estimation though.
If you'd like to see an overview of how to set up this tent, you can get an idea of how it all comes together by watching this video here.
