Is the height of the awning adjustable? Is it possible to lower the outer end of the awning to get a bit more shade?

The poles are height adjustable, mainly to suit your vehicle height, and adjust depending on the ground to car slope. You can put a slight slant on the awning if needed to adjust the shade, just be careful not to angle it too much and put pressure on the hinge.

The Darche Xtender 2.5 Awning Tent is the perfect companion for this awning. It attaches easily via a sail track skirt which slides into the sail track on the awning and allows the tent to be zipped on or off on the zipper side of the skirt.

Darche supplies L-brackets with these Eclipse Awnings, however it is possible your Kings awning might have the same bracket type and may fit the new awning. Kings is the home brand of another retailer so we don't know how their tents attach or what they're compatible with sorry.

You can generally make a 2.5m x 2.5m awning work with a Dual Cab Ute, you'll just need to ensure you don't have more than 60cm unsecured length at either end of the aluminium backing plate. Set your bars as far apart as they can go and just measure to be sure. They are supplied with L brackets, but you may find you'll need a channel bolt set to suit your vortex racks.

The Eclipse Side Awning comes with L brackets, so they may or may not suit your platform, the best bet will be to clarify with your roof rack supplier whether an L bracket can be mounted into the channel on the pioneer platform.

Does this come with channel bolts? And how does the bracket mount on alloy tray as pictured. Does the bracket go under the tray and on to the roof racks with the ring bolt through both it instead of channel bolts?

It's hard to work out exactly what you mean, but I'll take my best guess. The Darche Eclipse Side Awning 2.5M is supplied with an L bracket mounting kit. You'll get some L brackets, some M8 nuts/bolts, and M6 nuts/bolts. In terms of reference to the picture, that's a stock image from Darche, however, I'd assume that there is a side-channel in the roof tray that they've mounted the awning to, however different branded roof trays/platforms may mount differently. You'd need to double-check your set up and see if L brackets will suit your racks / tray, and if not then most roof rack suppliers sell mounting or fixing kit adapters for different mounting options. We'd suggest touching base with your roof rack supplier for more details.

Thanks for the feedback mate, I agree, a pic of the mounting kit would really help to illustrate how it all works. In the meantime though, it may help you to know that the kit contains L-shaped brackets using a 'sandwich' style fixing arrangement. Using Google Images on a search for "universal awning bracket kit" may help to clarify this further. Hope that's a help :)
