Harry Potter’s magical Room of Requirement hasn’t got anything on the multi-purpose Eclipse 2525 Awning Annex from Darche. This room can turn into anything – a dining area, lounge room or a place to lay your head down to rest at night.
This completely enclosed awning annexe offers traditional protection from the elements and is made from lightweight and mould treated canvas. The high waterhead rated roof, PVC heavy duty floor, and tapes sealed seams work together to keep you dry even in adverse weather.
You’ll also have plenty of ventilation, and a nice view thanks to the large mesh window that also be extended as an awning, and a gusset window which will allow you to ventilate in wet conditions.
Does this come with the awning and annex?
G'day Paul,
The Clipse Awning Annex is just the annex that sits under the awning, so you will need to purchase an awning separately, or fit to an awning you may already have.
Will this fit a 2 x 2.5m awning where the 2m side is the one along the vehicle? Ie parallel with the vehicle and then extends perpendicular 2.5 m from the vehicle
G'day Pat,
The dimensions for the Darche Eclipse Awning Tent are 2m x 2.5m. This means that as long as your awning fits these specifications, regardless of which way, the awning tent will fit! Hope that helps.
Thanks Lauren. So even with where the doorways and access point are, if it was rotated 90 degrees, it would still be fine?
G'day Pat,
I think Lauren has slightly misinterpreted your question. The Eclipse Awning Annex is designed to fit a 2m wide, by 2.5m out awning. The Eclipse Awning Annex is fit using the two sail tracks in line with the vehicle so you won't be able to rotate the unit 90 degrees.
I have a 2.5 x 2.5m ARB awning. Will the 2.5m version of this awning tent fit? And fit the ARB sail track? Do you sell the poles used in the picture to create the awning and do they 'spike' through eyelets in the awning to allow guy ropes?. Thanks in advance.
G'day Mick.
The Darche Eclipse Awning Annex 2.5m should theoretically fit with the ARB 2.5m awning, but it's hard to give a definite answer without being able to try it. The sail track is a standard size across all awnings so it shouldn't be a problem. The Darche Telescopic Alloy Pole will work well with the awning to extend the sides. The spike will go through the eyelet in the side panel.
225 2m wide. could you tell me measurement of rear door please and if possible a photo. Thanking you, Deb
G'day Deb,
I've gone down a few avenues to try and find this out for you with no luck so far sorry. We don't currently have a display model out of the packaging I can measure and the staff I spoke to at Darche weren't sure either when I put them on the spot. They did suggest that you could email them at info@darche.com.au and they'd follow it up after the public holiday in Melbourne for you. I hate to pass the buck, but I think this is your best bet at getting an accurate answer to this question.
Hi, I cant seem to find the dimensions of the 2m awning tent. We have a Sunseeker 2 x 2.1m awning. I am trying to locate a tent to fit.
G'day Angela,
The dimension of the 2m variation of the Darche Eclipse Awning Annex is 2m wide x 2.5m deep. They have an adjustable height of 195-210cm. I did a quick bit of research and it sounds like this might be a bit too big for your awning, but take your own measurements at home and get back to us if you have any more questions.
Hiya. I am trying to find out if I can attach this annex using my c channel for my old annexe or do I need a different fitting? This annexe is a terrific solution to replacing my old one. Thanks
G'day Tania,
I thought the best thing to do here for you is to take a picture of the track that the Darche Ecplise Awning Annex is designed to fit into and you'll be able to tell if it will work on your existing setup. Hopefully, this will help out!
This room fits under the awning and not next to it which saves room. Does it have a floor, is it insect proof and is the canvas thick enough to service as a tent?
G'day Eric,
The material used on the Darche Eclipse Awning Annex is similar to that of many other tents on the market, so you shouldn't have too many worries with it being too cold when you're out camping. The Annex does come with a floor and a ceiling. I called Darche about the mesh on it, they said that it's the finest mesh available and is PVC coated, so they're pretty confident it will keep all the insects out. They stopped short of labelling it "midge proof" because there's still a chance they could get through doors etc. and they didn't want to be accused of any false advertising. That said, you'd be pretty unlucky to end up with any bugs inside the tent space.
Looking to buy just wondering if this item is waterproof
G'day Shannon,
We've just added this little stat to our page as it was missing before but the Darche Eclipse Awning Annex has a Waterhead rating of 2000mm, which means it'll be perfectly fine in most downpours.
Hi can the darche extender tent still be added with this attached also?
I don't think you will be able to use both at once Jacinta as the sail track is required by both, but I want to confirm this with Darche.
I can't get onto them right now, but I will follow this up when they re-open tomorrow. Sorry to hold things up.
Hi Jacinta,
I just spoke to Darche and they have confirmed my thoughts. Both the Annex and the Extender Tent use the same sail track on the Eclipse awning, you will need to attach one or the other.
That being said, the Extender Tent can be used in a freestanding fashion, so other users have set up their awning with the Annex underneath, then set the Extender Tent up next to the Annex as a freestanding shelter. The only part of this that is not ideal is the gap that will exist between the awning and Extender Tent, which may let rain in between the two.
I hope this helps.
Does the tent come with the 4 awning poles as illustrated in the image?
G'day Dave,
I've just had a chat with our swag expert, also Dave, who let me know that the awning poles on the Darche Eclipse Awning Annex are sold separately.
