The Easy Fold Stretcher Tent from OZtrail takes everything you love from traditional outdoor shelters - the elevation of a stretcher, the spacious head height of a tent and the cosiness of a swag and combines it into one magnificent package.
You won’t even have to spend time setting up your sleeping quarters because this shelter folds out with no assembly required. All you need to do is chuck your mattress, sleeping bag and pillow inside and you’ll be good to go. The fabric is treated to repel water, and the seams of the fly are taped so once it’s properly set up you’ll stay dry all night.
With three doors you’ll never feel trapped in, and you can just roll out of bed easily no matter how sore you are from yesterday’s energetic adventure. In good weather, you can use it without the fly, and with the mesh roof, you’ll be able to fall asleep while looking at the stars.
Is the fabric breathable
G'day Ava,
The material on the OZtrail Easy Fold Camp Stretcher does have a small about of breathability to it but keep in mind that in order to be waterproof, it can't be too airy.
Purchased one with the real-tree rainfly but need a solid color one.
G'day Kat,
From time to time, we can get spare parts for different Oztrail products, depending on their availability from Oztrail. I would suggest that the best bet would be to give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 and our customer service team will be able to chase it up for you.
Hi, it's hard to get a good night sleep in this stretcher tent. The fabric squeaks against the frame every time I move. Is there a way of stopping this please?
G'day Michael,
Unfortunately, I don't really have any great, miracle tips to stop your Oztrail Easy Fold Stretcher Tent from squeaking whilst you roll over. The PE coatings can be a bit sticky when the tent is relatively new, so hopefully, in time the squeaking will die down a lot but in the meantime, there's not a huge amount you can do I'm sorry.
I was wondering if this was waterproof and to what degree
G'day Logan,
The Easy Fold Stretcher Tent is very waterproof thanks to durable polyester fabric and taped sealed seams. There has been some exceptional feedback on the capability and affordability of this product. Unfortunately, Oztrail hasn't had it waterhead rated so I don't have a measurement for you to compare to.
And the lenght of the said awning, again, plz? (Can't be 12 cm.)
Hi Tom,
The awning on this stretcher tent is 125cm long, and 70cm wide.
I understand where I went wrong in the previous answer, I meant to type '125cm', and left off the '5' and I misread your question before about the poles - so I'm totally at fault here! Again, my sincere apologies Tom.
The picture here clearly shows two poles supporting the awning... are they not included? Also, 12 cm long doesn't sound right for the lenght of the awning... pls verify.
Hi Tom,
I've just answered your other query below - but we have checked, and yes it does indeed come with awning poles (my sincere apologies). And the Oztent 190cm Alloy Pole is definitely 112cm long, not 12cm.
Thank, but 12cm long doesn't sound right... Also, the awning in the picture clearly shows two poles included. Pls verify.
G'day Tom,
Regarding your previous question, the Oztent 190cm Alloy Poles have a minimum length of 112cm.
We've opened one on the Easy Fold Stretcher Tents up in the warehouse and looked inside the bag and it turns out the Easy Fold Stretcher Tent does come with awning poles included!
It doesn't say that the poles are included in the box, or on Oztrail's website so we were always under the impression that it didn't - so I am so sorry about that confusion Tom. The good news is that you won't have to buy awning poles separately though!
1) How long is the Awning (assume 90+ cm wide?), pls? 2) Can you supply two additional poles to match? 3) Does the whole thing need pegging-down? 4) In stock? In Brisbane..? Cheers!
G'day Tom,
I've just got my tape measure out and checked with the display model, and I found that the awning is 12cm long, and 70cm wide.
This stretcher tent doesn't come with awning poles included, so as the front of the stretcher is 140cm high it looks like the Oztent Alloy Pole in the 190cm size (minimum size is 112cm) is your best bet to use with the Easy Fold.
The Easy Fold comes with one guy rope at the back, and two at the front for securing it down. We do currently have stock, but at this time we are still just operating out of Adelaide.
*EDIT* This stretcher tent comes with awning poles, and is 125cm long, not 12cm. My Apologies for the confusion.
Whar's an "Easy Fold", pls?
Hi Tom,
When I wrote 'Easy Fold' I was just abbreviating the product name - the Easy Fold Stretcher Tent. I hope that clears that up!
Does the fly sit out from the inner? looking to minimise/prevent condensation in cold weather camping
G'day JB,
The fly does sit away from the inner on the Easy Fold Stretcher Tents. There's a reasonable amount of space either side and loads of space above your head, also with the dual doors you can get great cross flow ventilation happening so you shouldn't have many issues with condensation.
Hi, wondering how stable the stretcher tent is? I have a friend who has difficulty with knees etc, will the tent be fairly stable to allow to get in and out OK. Thanks
G'day Sue,
The Oztrail Easy Fold Stretcher Tent is very stable. Naturally, there isn't a huge amount of room to manoeuvre within the stretcher tent, but in terms of stability when set up and getting in and out, it should be fine for your friend.
when does the sale end
G'day Hunter,
These are our best prices for which we offer every day of the year. The only times prices will fluctuate is in line with our buy price, but you can be assured that you'll never see these at full retail price at Snowys.
I am thinking of moving from a swag to this. At the moment I set up the swag with all my bedding in it before I leave home and then just unroll the swag when I arrive with sleeping bag and pillow already to go. Can I do the same with this or do I have to carry it all seperate till I get there? Thanks
Hi guys we are loooking to buy three of these for a trip on the CSR what mattress would you recommend to go with it, if any? We are all in our late sixties and like the idea of not having to be on the ground!
Thanks for that Ben, We will be buying a lot of stuff from you in late July, including three stretcher tents, which i see are not available til late June. We will be departing from adelaide, so i guess we could pick stuff up there which you might hold for us? We leave for the CSR and Anne Beadell highway around 3 August Cheers and thanks peter
My picture is difficult to see details clearly. Is it wind-tight and cosy?
Comfortable yes . Depends on your mattress. The inside is all fly wire then external cover or fly, no extra cover at door. Once you know how to erect, 5 mins max. If windy during day needs to be peged down at night I hope it does not blow away. Have used stretcher tent a dozen times. So far so good
