Hi, I've seen these types of swags off the floor on camp folder beds, at campsites before. Can this one be put on a folder bed..and if so.. do you have the beds available? Make and model please. Thanks
G'day Ken,
Not really, no. The DS-2 swag itself is too big for single stretchers like the XL 100, or RS-1 stretchers and we don't have a suitable sized stretcher. You wouldn't realistically be able to use the fly, as this doesn't attach to the inner swag itself and is pegged out on a much larger footprint.
If you were fair weather camping only and happy to use the mesh inner, then yes with a stretcher around 210L x 140W cm. Otherwise not suitable to combine with a stretcher.
Can you suggest a ground sheet for this swag?
G'day Fiona,
It depends how much area you want covered. Some people want a groundsheet that just protects the floor, other people want a larger option that covers either the annex spaces or a larger part of the ground around the swag aswell.
We'd recommend deciding how much space you'd like covered and going from there, baring in mind anything larger than the floor only will need to be pegged through.
The smallest Ultramesh Tarp will be a good option if you want the whole swag footprint and some annex/awning space covered.
Is the 210cm length referring to the internal sleeping length?
G'day Richard,
Yes, that's correct. Check out our Features video for more info on all the dimensions, particularly the 9:10 mark where Ben covers the internal space.
Can you please confirm the mattress width. Swag's external width is 140cm (outer skin?) but video mentions 120cm mattress width, being quite narrow for double. Thanks.
G'day Bruce,
The mattress width is 120cm wide. The external dimensions relate to the furthest points, which in the case of this swag is the widest peg points on the fly. As the fly is separate from the swag skin, similar to a tent, this is wider than the actual swag itself.
Hope that helps!
Is this a 4 season swag? Do swags even have season ratings?
G'day,
Swags don't come with a season rating, they're generally recognised as a shelter for all year-round use.
