If you thought you could take a couple of Vs and squish them together to make a suitable mat for both you and your partner, then Klymit's Double V Sleeping Pad might change your mind.
A makeshift double doesn't provide the same comfort or technology level as this mat's side-by-side V-chamber design. This patented design of Klymit's body mapping technology ensures both you and your partner are fully supported regardless of how you each sleep - side, back or tummy. Plus, it limits air movement so, when one of you moves around or gets up in the night, the other is not catapulted off their side of the mat! The deep weld patterning creates expansion zones that maintain a full loft beneath you and retain heat through improved thermal comfort. Add in the side rails that are cleverly stitched into the pattern and construction and work to keep you nicely in-line on your mat, and this double provides a pretty sweet set-up. Permeating the inside laminate is an anti-microbial treatment to inhibit any gross fungus or bacteria from growing and damaging your mat, plus it comes with a super convenient pump integrated stuff sack for quick, easy inflation – 10 pumps and you're good to go.
So, forget trying to push two pads together on your next romantic minimalist getaway, and pack the Double V from Klymit instead – you'll be thankful later. You're welcome ;)

Hi. Is this mattress insulated or is there an insulated version?
G'day Ben,
Not really, no. This mat has an R-Value rating of 1.3, which is considered to be quite low thermal properties.
Unfortunately Klymit dont have any insulated mats that we carry, but if you after an insulation double hiking mat option, check out the EXPED Synmat Duo
As you would be aware most large mats don’t work well on a queen stretcher because of the central stabiliser bar- does this one mould around it? I’m still looking for a solution for ours that doesn’t involve two separate mattresses
G'day Adrienne,
The Double V Sleeping Pad is best used directly on the ground. As they are designed for lightweight adventures, they're much narrower than queen stretchers, so they're not a good fit. We'd generally recommend using two separate single self-inflating mats on top of queen stretchers.
