Staff tip:Before you hit the track − when setting up the poles, listen for an audible 'click' to indicate that the locking mechanism has popped out, ensuring pole stability and subsequently avoiding a mid−trek collapse.
Staff tip:Hey, keen hikers − remember to always store your poles disassembled and dry, to avoid corrosion.
Hello Snowys, do BD make these poles in longer lengths like some of their other types? E.g up to 130cm max length?
Anthea - Bunbury, WA (3 years ago)
G'day Anthea,
These poles are fixed length poles, so if you are wanting something longer, the Carbon FLZ poles are the way to go. The FLZ poles are essentially the same, they just have the ability to be adjusted slightly to account for terrain and topography, where the ability to adjust your pole height can be essential.
Hope that helps!

Hi there. How do you decide what size to order 1 answer
I’m interested in buying but how do you decide what size to get and how long to get to Canberra . Thankyou
Janice - Canberra (4 years ago)
G'day Janice,
The general rule of thumb when deciding on the right size pole to order is to stand with your elbow at a right angle with palms facing each other. Then measure the distance from the centre of your palm to the ground, and that should be your optimum pole length. With a fixed-length pole like the Carbon Z poles, we'd generally recommend round up to the next size if you're in the middle of two lengths.

Black Diamond Carbon Z trekking poles. 1 answer
As poles are shown in pairs and so it the weight so the price of $212.90 is for 1 pair or one pole. Advertising is not clear
Marianne - dromana(5 years ago)
G'day Marianne,
Yes the Distance Carbon Z Trekking Poles are sold in a pair. The weight listed is for the two poles in the pair.
