Fitting three adults comfortably, with a dark interior so you can snooze for longer – you can doze off to the twinkle of the stars every night on tour in the Dakota 1800 Series 4 from 23ZERO.
This tent uses 23ZERO’s Light Suppression Technology (LST) which consists of a dark coating on the inner walls which will keep it darker even through morning sunrises while keeping the temperature cooler on hot days. It’s made from ECO13B 100% certified recycled 900D Polyester Oxford, with fine PVC coated insect mesh for ventilation and protection from bugs. Lay down to rest every evening on the comfortable 65mm open cell mattress, which as a polycotton mattress cover so that you can keep it it in top shape.
Stargaze by zipping down the sky roof or the 180° windows and get air circulation through the side vents. This tent features a 25mm heavy duty alloy sheath covered aluminium internal frame that pivots on a stainless-steel yoke – so it’s built solidly. You can access the Dakota from the 2300 mm alloy round telescopic ladder, and the adjustable 210D poly ripstop fly keeps air flowing throughout while reducing the risk of condensation.
When the next stop on your destination is calling, the tent simply packs away into a 600gsm PVC transit cover with D ring straps for compression. Perfect for the trio, the Dakota 1800 from 23ZERO offers spacious comfort and better sleep-ins while you’re on the road.

Bedding 1 answer
Can you advise regarding the storage of bedding inside the t when packed up. Is this possible? Thanks
John - Cairns City, QLD (6 months ago)
G'day John,
It depends on the type of bedding you're using, and how much strain is put on the roof top tent when packed up. I know of many people who use woolen blankets or down quilts without too many issues, but chunky/heavy duty sleeping bags add too much bulk - you'll want to take your pillows out aswell. At the very least you can leave a set of sheet on, but it would depend on what else you use.

Weight rating 1 answer
Hello, I am wondering what the weight rating is for the tent / ladder? Like an occupancy weight rating? (Not a roof loading of the vehicle, I'll have it on my canopy and that is suitable)
Toby - Blayney, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Toby,
The ladder load rating is 150kg. The tent itself doesn't have a weight rating, its a solid supported base structure unlike say a camping chair or a stretcher thats purely supporting weight with sticthed fabric. With Rooftop Tents you're only limited by your roof load rating.
Eg. if your static load is 400Kg and the tent, roof racks, etc is 85kg, you have 315kg available to have as occupancy in your tent. If your static load is 300kg, you'd have 215kg available to have as occupancy weight, etc
Hope that makes sense.

Insect mesh1 answer
Gday is the insect mesh midge proof?
Ian - Benalla, VIC(3 years ago)
G'day Ian,
23Zero use a PVC coasted polyester insect mesh. It's not technically midgeproof, so if you pair it with some repellant you should be fine.

Roof racks1 answer
Do you propose a particular brand roof rack or is the weight holding capacity the main requirement / roof loading Looking to place on a Toyota Land cruiser 200 series
Troy - Pakenham(4 years ago)
G'day Troy,
In regards to the roof racks its best to contact a Roof Rack specialist company who should be able to comment on the weight and placement and fitting of Roof Top Tents.

Do you guys sell the 1600 high annex to suit the Dakota 1800?
Steve - Orange (4 years ago)
G'day Steve,
I've just double-checked and we don't currently have the 1.6m annex for the Dakota 1800 but we should be able to special order one for you direct from Darche. Please just send us an email to service@snowys.com.au and we can follow up with 23Zero for you.
