Hi, which thermal ice back do you recommend with this cooler so it fits
G'day Rafael,
The best bet will be 2-3 of the Midi Ice Pack. You can stack these in the sides and bottom then place your food drinks in the middle.
If you put an ice pack in here, does it actually get cold enough for meat? If I went camping for a couple of days, I don't want to die of dysentry from off meat.
G'day Michael,
You should be able to keep the WCI-33 cold enough to store meat. We'd recommend cryovacing and possibly freezing your meat before you leave, then ensuring you cool your icebox down overnight using icepacks/ice bricks before you leave so that everything is cold before you leave.
Is there any baskets available that will suit this esky?
G'day Dani,
Unfortunately not, there are no baskets compatible with the WCI-33 model. The smallest model that the baskets suit is the CI-42.
Hi just wanted to know if this icebox brand is suitable for dry ice?
G'day Carolyn,
The WCI-33 is no more or less suitable than other iceboxes, however, there are some pretty big safety issues to be aware of and because of this, we don't recommend it. Dryice will freeze anything it comes into contact with, including causing nasty burns to the skin if you are not careful. Some people also report an unpleasant taste in their food and the CO2 gas displaces the Oxygen in the surrounding area and can, therefore, be hazardous.
.
G'day Neil,
I've just measured the internal height of the WCI-33 to double check for you, and I found that it was 36cm in height which should fit a riesling bottle.
I'll make sure those specs get updated right away for you Neil, and apologies about the confusion.
Hi, does this ice box fit wine and/or champagne bottles up right? Thanks
G'day Rob,
We keep some empty wine (and beer) bottles in store to test them with our ice boxes and fridges, so I've tried this out myself and the WCI-33 can definitely fit wine bottles up right Rob.
I understand that the thermal ice stays colder than regular ice. Was just wondering what size thermal ice pack(s) you would recommend for the 33L Cool Ice by Waeco.
Howdy Greg,
The Thermal Ice Packs are perfect for camping and picnics, fishing and touring, or even parties and lunches. They can be used as a hot or a cold pack which makes them versatile not only for your Waeco ice box but also for keeping that hot lunch hotter for longer!
The ideal Thermal Ice Pack for the 33L Waeco Cool Ice Icebox is the AT003 which can be found at this link and will fit snugly into the bottom or the top of the Icebox.
They feature three pockets that allow the pack to be folded even when frozen!
Cheers!
