2 white pads near latches1 answer

When you open the lid. There are 2 white round pads in a clear silicon type material on the lip of the box (not the lid). This has a layer of plastic firm that peeled off. What are the 2 white pads for?

The round pads are just there to keep a space to protect the seal in transit. They are meant to be removed after purchase.
