Squish down bulky items to help fit them into your pack with the Compression Sack from Sea to Summit.
This sack can allow you to compress your gear down to one-third of its original volume, as it has 4 compression straps which provide even compression and eliminate bulging. It’s also made from a water-resistant PU coated 70D nylon, which provides an excellent weight to strength ratio. The extra-long straps also make it easy to fill it to maximum capacity, the flip top lid design helps stop the straps from getting tangled, and the nylon webbing pull handle makes it easy to grab.
Make it easier to pack your rucksack by condensing your gear in a Compression Sack from Sea to Summit.
Hi team! I know these are waterproof. But, are they waterproof from the inside out? Ie, can I stuff my wet tent in one, compress it down and expect the inside of my pack to stay dry? Thanks!
G'day Dave,
Yep, they are a completely waterproof stuff sack, which has seam sealing, etc.
They're not one-way waterproof. Hope that helps!
I bought a hammock gear sleeping quilt and it is currently in a 8litre bag but would like to buy a compression bag. I will be hiking and looking for ultralight gear what would you reccomend?
G'day Anna-Leese,
If you're looking for an Ultralight option we'd recommend checking out the Ultra Sil Compression Sacks. Based on your requirement for an 8L bag, we'd recommend the Small (10L), which can be compressed down to a minimum of 3L.
I have a Roman -5deg Palm Passport sleeping bag. It comes with a compression bag which gets it down to approx 26cm L, 20cm W, 20cm D. I was wondering if the Sea to Summit one will compress it even further? If it will, which size should I buy?
G'day Danielle,
The supplied storage sack for the Roman Palm Passport (-5) is a compression style sack so putting it in the Sea to Summit Compression Sack won't allow you to compress the bag any further than you can in the supplied sack.
Hi, I recently bought 3 of the Coleman Aurora C-5 sleeping bags and there is no way my girls are going to be able to get them back into the bag. Someone suggested a compression sack - are you able to advise which size would fit this sleeping bag please?
G'day Keryn,
The X-Large size compression sack is a little larger than the Aurora C-5 storage sack. We'd recommend stuffing the sleeping bag back into the sack rather than rolling it as it will be much easier to get back in the bag.
Hi what size sack would you recommend for queen size doona, 2 pillows and sheets. Could this be fitted in 1 bag or would you recommend 2 bags? Thanks
G'day Edward,
It's a bit tricky to know as different types of doonas have different filling, and are therefore going to fit into different sized spaces. If you select a size in the drop-down menu then the in-use dimensions for that size will be displayed so you should have some idea. None of the bags will be large enough for pillows, but you might be able to fit the doona and sheets X-Large version depending on the items themselves.
Hi, just wondering what you could fit into the xs bag? Looking at storage solutions in our caravan for toddlers winter jackets, hats etc. Thanks
G'day Narelle,
The X-Small is approximately 6L, with in-use dimensions of 34L x 15W x 15H cm. You'd likely be able to fit a toddler winter jacket and hat depending on what the jacket is made from, and how bulky it is.
Wanna buy one
G'day Stephen,
The Regular and Long size will suit a Medium Sea to Summit Compression Sack.
Could you fit the Marmot Trestles Elite Eco 30 Sleeping Bag into a Small Compression Sack. The standard compression sack is fairly average when used for bike-packing
G'day Ryan,
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to verify this for you as we don't currently have any stock of the sleeping bags to check. Based purely on the listed packed dimensions I think the Small Compression Sack will be a tiny bit small, and you might be better with the Medium Compression Sack.
We have Sea to Summit sleeping bags (Th3 and Qu1 - both regular size). What size compression sacks should we get for these?
G'day Ben,
Sea to Summit lists the Large compression sack for the Trailhead Th3 Regular or the X-Large for the Th3-Long. They list the Medium compression sack for the Quest Qu1 Regular or the Large for the Quest Qu1 Long.
Hi, we recently bought Denali 200 and 700 sleeping bags, which compression sack size would you recommend? Thanks!
G'day Roshan,
Good question, unfortunately Denali are a home brand of another retailer so we don't really have a way of knowing how big/small they are. Your best option will be to select each of the sizes and have a look at the in-use dimensions for their size and then making an estimated guess.
I recently purchased a Marmot Angel Fire Women's Sleeping Bag from you. What size compression sack would you recommend I purchase for this?
G'day Laura,
We'd recommend the Medium size compression sack for use with the Angel Fire Sleeping Bag.
We need a couple of compression sacks for single doonas. I have an old sea2summit event compression bag that has an S on it so I assume it is a small. The doona just fits so I thought one size up might be better, even 2. Bit confused though. Seems that XL compression sack is same size as L ultra sil. Is that right? Do you think I want Ord or ultra sil? (We car camp so weight is not an issue)
G'day Jenni,
Thanks for reaching out, the compression sacks have a standard sizing convention across the range in terms of volume. For example, the Compression Sack, Ultra-Sil Compression Sack and Compression Dry Sack Large are all 20L capacity. If you can just fit the doona in a small then I think going up to the medium suit should be suitable. If you're just planning to car camp then the ordinary style should suffice, the Ultra-sil is a little more expensive due to the type of material.
I have a Coleman Mudgee C-3 Sleeping bag. I am planning to use a compression sack for this. Which size do you think is suitable for this? Thanks
G'day Abdul,
The Coleman Mudge C-3 sleeping bag is not designed to be compressed, so your best bet would be to go with the Sea to Summit Stuff Sack in the 2X Large size.
Looking at either the Sea to Summit Q1 or Mamot always Summer Sleeping Bag. Would these fit easily into this compression sack?
G'day Liz,
I've tried both and the Marmot Always Summer will easily fit into the Small Compression sack. The Sea to Summit Quest Qu1 is not so compressible and will fit into the Large Compression sack.
Fit a double sleeping bag?
G'day Sarah,
It's hard to say because sleeping bags come in so many shapes, sizes and weights. Is your sleeping bag a model that we stock currently? If so I'm happy to go down on the shop floor and work out which size will fit it best. Otherwise, you might have to make an educated guess, you're always welcome to return it if you go for it and it doesn't fit.
Hello I enjoy going camping on my motorcycle. Carrying space is very valuable when motorcycle camping. I am thinking of buying a compression sack to reduce the size of my sleeping bag, which takes up the most space on my bike. The sleeping bags dimensions when packed are 27cm in diameter and 40cm long. What would you suggest would be the best product for me to use? Thank you for your help.
G'day Matthew,
Looking at the dimensions you've provided, I reckon your bag is currently taking up about 22L of space. The Large Sea to Summit Compression Sack has 20L of capacity when at it's largest and the XL is 30L. If you feel you'd be able to cram it into the Large, then it would be a cheaper option but I'd probably recommend going for the XL and then compressing it right down from there.
