Chris - Glenelg East, SA (2 years ago)
G'day Chris,
You can potentially get them through the supplier. Your best bet is to email spareparts@adventureoperations.com - they'll be able to let you know what options there are.

Aluminium suitable for Induction stoves?1 answer
Since when is aluminium suitable for induction stoves? Does this have a steel core layer in the base?
Phil - Mosman Park, WA (3 years ago)
G'day Phil,
We don't know the specifics of the manufacturing process sorry but can confirm, as per the description, that this is suitable for induction cooking. A quick bit of googling says that some die-cast aluminum cookware can have a magnetised base at the manufacturing stage, so assume it has something to do with that.

Die-cast alumium & tomatoes1 answer
Considering the partial aluminium construction, can this be used with acidic foods like tomatoes? Apparently this is fine with anodised aluminium like on the STS Alpha pan. This pan being die cast alumium but with an unspecified coating the answer doesn't seem clear.
Jovan - North Sydney, NSW(3 years ago)
G'day Jovan,
These pans are manufactured to the same standard as normal domestic non-stick cookware, so can be used in the same manner. I personally do not use any non-stick cookware, however, it is a popular choice across the board for cooking of all kinds.

Will this work with the Coleman Hyperflame Fyreknight stove? 1 answer
Looking for a pan that is lighter than a cast iron that doesn’t burn using the Coleman hyper flame. Will this pan burn on the low flame? We have the summit pans and they have been ruined by hyper flame stove, but we like the stove bc of how quickly it boils water for morning coffee!
Michelle - Sydney(4 years ago)
G'day Michelle,
The Hyperflames pack a real punch, so they tend not to be so kind to nonstick pans. The Pyrolux Blue Steel pans are a tad lighter than the cast iron pans and should fair a little better on the high heat.

Pancakes1 answer
Hi, hard to tell on the photos. Is this pan any good for pancakes - is there a flat enough base section to cook a few at a time? Thanks!
Reece - Brisbane(4 years ago)
G'day Reece,
Yes, these frypans are great for pancakes. Depending on how big your pancakes are you should be able to cook one or two at a time.

Can you use metal utensils with it?1 answer
Just wondering how hard wearing the nom stick coating is, and if it’s ok to use with metal utensils?
David - Brisbane(5 years ago)
G'day David,
The same usage/care instructions for nonstick camping cookware is that same for household nonstick, so we recommend wooden or silicone coated utensils only.

G'day Chris,
Thanks for your enquiry! As the Campfire Compact Nonstick Frypan 28cm is made with a triple coated non-stick cooking surface, there is no need to season this frypan.

So what is the non stick material?6 answers
Is it PTFE (Teflon) or ceramic?
Nick - Manning(7 years ago)
G'day Nick,
The Campfire Compact Nonstick Frypan range uses a PFOE free, triple coated, non-stick cooking surface.
Ben - Snowys(7 years ago)
Yeah I saw that in the description Ben
What is the material though?
Nick - Manning(7 years ago)
G'day Nick,
I've spoken with Companion (parent brand of Campfire) and their Customer Support team was unsure, so they're looking into it. Once I have a response from them, I'll pass it through.
Ben - Snowys(7 years ago)
All good Ben - I've done some googling and it will be PTFE (aka Teflon) - it's just that PFOA wasn't used in the manufacturing process http://www.thecookwareadvisor.com/what-do-you-mean-its-not-teflon/
Nick - Manning(7 years ago)
This is Teflon pan as PTFE is just another name for it from what I have research. https://industrialcoat.com/ptfe-vs-teflon-whats-difference/
guess - Australia(5 years ago)
For anyone who may be wondering, I asked the same question, and Snowys (Thanks team!) was able to follow up and got the following answer: "Our factory have confirmed that it’s a water based non-stick coating similar to Teflon"

Is the handle locating assembly all plastic?5 answers
Are spare assemblies available as the prongs look like plastic and are likely to break off.
Malcom - 2115(8 years ago)
G'day Malcolm,Â
I've had a look at the Compact Nonstick Frypan 28cm in person, and though it may look like plastic - the part where you attach the handle is actually made from metal.
It seemed quite sturdily attached, and as far as I know we haven't had any trouble other customers about it. If something wasn't right, you can always give us a buzz Malcolm, and we'll be happy to help!Â
Emily - Snowys(8 years ago)
Are you sure about this?
The pic shown here https://www.snowys.com.au/content/images/thumbs/0005256_compact-nonstick-frypan-28cm.jpeg
sure looks like the two prongs sticking out from the pan are made of plastic?
Malcom - Ermington(8 years ago)
Hi Malcolm,Â
I can totally see where your concern is, as they do have a glossy finish in the image which makes it look that way, but I've spoken to the product manager at Companion and they have confirmed the prongs are made from Aluminium. The handle itself is definitely made from plastic, however.Â
Emily - Snowys(8 years ago)
Hu, The handle is sturdy and heat resistant. Have used ours many times. It's very good quality
Simon - NSW(8 years ago)
Thanks for the feedback Simon! Glad to hear you're enjoying the quality of this frypan, we think it's pretty good too!

Can you put these into the dishwashing machine.1 answer
Can you put these into the dishwashing machine?
Margaret - Woody Point(8 years ago)
Just checked for you Margaret, and the information on the packaging states that this range of cookware is not recommended for the dishwasher.
Ben - Snowys(8 years ago)
does it have a lid?1 answer
or is there another one in the range with a lid that fits this one too?
Maree - Geraldton(8 years ago)
G’day Maree, the Campfire Compact Nonstick Frypan does not come with its own lid, nor is there a lid available for this product. The only other fry pan we sell that comes with a lid is the Campfire Compact Deep Frypan – but that is a different shape and depth than the Compact Nonstick Frypan so it may not be what you are after.
