Chipped and rust evident1 answer
Hi, I bought 2 of these chairs a couple of months ago. We have only used them on 3 occasions and I’ve noticed an area where the surface is broken and rust is evident. Am I able to exchange this chair for a replacement?
Sue - Bribie Island, QLD (6 months ago)
G'day Sue,
It's hard to know just based on what you've described. If the chipping & subsequent rust is due to damage in use, eg, frames has knocked and chipped, and chairs have rusted at that point after getting wet, it wouldn't be covered If you think there's quality issues with the power coating of the frame from manufacturing, I'd recommend heading to our Warranty Page to fill out a claim. The team can take a look and get back to you!

Width of the backrest?1 answer
Are you able to give a measurement of the width between the two upright bars for the backrest? I have a similar chair and it is very uncomfortable for me as these bars dig in to my shoulder blades.
Steven - Hoppers Crossing(10 months ago)
G'day Steven,
it is just a little over 50 cm from pole to pole.

Packed size1 answer
From the images, it looks like you could pack one chair on top of another one in such a way that they would fit into space exactly 30cm high (as one end is chunkier than the other). Could you verify this for me?
Grant - Geelong, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Grant,
It doesn't quite work out. The chair doesn't pack down with one completely flat side so when there's two together, even top and tailed it's not a neat tetris fit. I'd probably want a space of around 35-40cm so the chair frames can just sit naturally and they don't have to be squashed down to fit in a tight or very close fitting space. As with all measurements and discrepancies between measuring implements, we recommend allowing for 2-3cm buffer in any physical space you have at home with online dimensions.

Back support1 answer
Is anyone finding the loose back support uncomfortable? Have I erected the chair correctly? I really want to like this chair but I am extremely disappointed with the slack back support. I need a pillow in my back to sit in it comfortably. Bought 2 but now regret it.
Sue - Bronte, NSW(1 year ago)
G'day Sue,
Maybe someone else can chime in here with their experience, but generally these chairs have great reviews from people who find them quite supportive. I've just tried sitting in our display chair instore, it seems alright to me but if you try to lean back/lounge in it it becomes abit uncomfortable. Ideally, directors chairs are for sitting more upright than lounging, so that may be the issue. It also may be something that could improve with time, but sounds like these chairs may not be the right style for you.

Arm Rest Height1 answer
Hi, I would like to know the height of the arm rests on this compact directors chair when the chair is set up. Would this chair fit under the oztrail Ironside 120cm fold in half table, or any similar 70cm high camping table on the market with the free space available to fit a chair under. I see it states the seat height is 43cm and the highest point at the back is 93cm but no arm rest height, to know if it would go under a 70cm high table. If you could clarify the height that would be appreciated. Thank You.
Peter - VIC(2 years ago)
G'day Peter,
The armrests on this chair are 66cm high. I've tested this against the Coleman 4 foot folding table, which is essentially the same as the Oztrail Ironside, and it fits no trouble. The only consideration is that the side table cannot be folded away separately from the chair itself, so the width may be a contributing factor when looking at compatible tables. The table I mentioned above can fit one chair per side. Hope that helps.

left handed1 answer
Can the table on this chair be moved to the left hand side
Carmen - Moe(5 years ago)
G'day Carmen,
The Black Wolf COmpact Directors Chairs only come with a right-hand side table, and they are not interchangeable. The only directors style chair we sell with a flexible side table option is the OZTent Gecko Directors Chair. Hope that helps!

Is it possible to fold the table down1 answer
Can the table be folded down while the chair is unfolded i.e. in use?
David - Alison(8 years ago)
G'day David,
I've had a go of this myself in store, and I found that you can't fold the side table on the Black Wolf Compact Director's Chair down while it's in use.Â
Is the front edge of the chairs seat solid, looks like it has a bar under the material.1 answer
My wife has short legs and finds that chairs with a bar across the front of the seat uncomfortable as it cuts into the back of her knees.
Graham - MUNDARING, WA(9 years ago)
Hi Graham,
This chair doesn't have a bar that goes across and under the legs. It's the way the front material is attached to the chair, which makes the material curve down at the front in order to protect the legs from rubbing against the material. So it is actually designed to alleviate that cutting feeling on the back of your thigh or in your partner's case knees.
I think it's a great chair, benefit of a directors chair and compact storage all in one!

Does the chair come with a bag or cover?3 answers
Hi just wondering if the chair comes with a carry bag or cover for ease of transport?
Erica - Stirling(9 years ago)
It doesn't come with a bag or cover Erica, but once folded the chair has a built in carry handle that makes it super easy to carry. In my opinion adding a carry bag to this chair negates the ease and speed at which is is folded and transported.
Ben - Snowys(9 years ago)
It came in a bag.
Gerald - Silverwater, NSW (4 years ago)
Thanks Gerald, this has changed since the original response in 2016 We'll get that updated in the specifications now.

Hi, your packed size dimensions state 50x70x85. Is this supposed to be 8.5cm or 7.0cm as packed depth? 2 answers
Thank you for providing packed dimensions at all. Yours is the only website I have found that supplies these details. For packing in a camper these details are very important to us!
Emily - CENTRAL QUEENSLAND MC, QLD(9 years ago)
Hi Emily, the dimensions we listed were wrong sorry, especially the packed size. I have updated them accordingly, with the packed size of this chair being 52 x 48 x 16 cm. Thanks for bringing the error to our attention.
Ben - Snowys(9 years ago)
Thanks for your prompt reply and for all of your help. These will fit perfectly in our camper. I will be placing my order ASAP.

Black wolf compact directors chair2 answers
i am querying the weight of the chair advertised. It states that the weight is 3.5kilos whereas other sites have this chair at 6 kilos. I was wondering if there are two different qualities.
Coral - TOCUMWAL, NSW(10 years ago)
Hi Coral, that was an oversight on our behalf. I just weighed the chairs and they came in at 5.66kg. Thanks for pointing out the error.
Ben - Snowys(10 years ago)
Thank you, very prompt reply. I will now place my order.
