Hi, Snowfolk, After some extended shopping for a thick, broken-back -friendly mat that will fit my small 190x65cm stretcher, this one is very tempting, but has some stiff competition from the https://www.snowys.com.au/comfort-plus-self-inflating-sleeping-mat. The dimensions seem to be near identical, with the only real difference that I can see being the latter that the latter is 8cm thick, and the former 10cm. Approx. $50 more seems to be a lot to pay for just 2cm. What can you tell me about the gap in comfort experience between the two pads? Thank you in advance. :-)
Pamela - Canberra(4 years ago)
G'day Pamela,
You've pretty much nailed it there, the Comfort DLX is 2cm thicker than the Comfort Plus. They also have a slightly different structure, the Comfort DLX has a square side wall, while the Comfort Plus has a sandwiched side wall. The other major difference is the overall ASTM/R-value for insulation, the Comfort DLX has a much higher rating, and will keep you warmer in the winter months. In terms of comfort, given you're sleeping on a stretcher, you probably wouldn't notice the difference between the two thicknesses, the main benefits will be found if sleeping directly on the tent floor. I think you'll be happy with either option, so I'd suggest choosing based on your current budget.

Will these work as a replacement to a swag mattress?1 answer
Will these work well as replacement for a swag mattress. Will they roll just as small as swag foam mattress?
Annie - Mackay(4 years ago)
G'day Annie,
Yes the Comfort DLX SI Mats are a great replacement for a swag mattress. They'll roll down to the same size or smaller than the foam mattress. Just make sure you check the overall width, as most swags will be a little wider than these mats.

Is the Goanna stretcher also suitable?1 answer
Thank you for confirming the Gecko is suitable - I was wondering about the Goanna as well
Shaun - Petersham(5 years ago)
G'day Shaun,
The Comfort DLX SI Sleeping Mat RW will just fit the Goanna stretcher, but the width of the stretcher is to the edge of the sidebars, so your mat will curve up a little more at the sides on the Goanna.

Is the Gecko stretcher suitable to use with this mat?1 answer
As the mat costs significantly more than the stretcher, I simply wieh to get the best combination and the Gecko stretcher seems sturdie and comfortable
Shaun - Petersham(5 years ago)
G'day Shaun,
Yes the Comfort DLX SO Sleeping Mat RW will suit the Oztrent Gecko Stretcher. Both options are excellent quality so should complement each other well. The mat can be used directly on the ground too as it is 10cm thick with some luxurious foam.

Twisting the valve?1 answer
Just a little worried that if I am using this as suggested and twist the valve to pack down/deflate the mat wont it wear out over time and break the plastic valve over time?
Susan wells - Hervey bay(6 years ago)
G'day Susan,
Sea to Summit has spent a lot of time designing the twisting valve on the Comfort DLX SI Sleeping Mat and offer a Limited Lifetime warranty on their mats, so should there be a problem down the track you shouldn't have any troubles arranging a solution with them.
