The Classic Table has a melamine top so it will be suitable for most food prep, but we'd suggest just monitoring how the top will go with a stove as sometimes the heat will be too great for the top depending on the output of the stove.

That is correct, however, this is considering 30kg of distributed weight as opposed to a single 30kg object plonked in the middle. Hope that makes sense!
