When you’ve got the gang coming over for a BBQ, the Coleman Chest Cooler 47L is perfect for keeping the meat and drinks icy cold.
Holding up to 71 x 375ml cans and tall enough to stand 2-litre bottles upright, the Coleman Chest Cooler offers ThermOzone™ foam insulation to ensure superior cold retention so you can keep ice for up to 3 days.
With a hinged lid for easy access and 2-way bail handles for easy transportation lifting and carrying, the Chest Cooler 47L is rust and leak proof and easy to clean with UV protection on the external surface and anti-microbial protection in the lining to resist mould and odours brewing.
why do most cheaper moulded eskys (Coleman/Esky) not have the lid filled with insulation like the sides? Also why are the drink holders in the lid? -reducing of insulation thickness of the lid. Surely better insulation would be achieved with full insulation being injected to the lid air space.

G'day Peter,
The Coleman Chest Cooler 47L is designed to be a great short-term option for keeping your drinks and food cold. Unlike some of the other brands which opt for better cooling functionality over portability and style, these sorts of coolers are designed to be easy to use for picnics or days at the beach as opposed to lengthy camping trips.

G'day Jacqui,Â
Your question has left us scratching our heads, so we've given Coleman a call but because of the time of year, they may take a couple of days to get back to us.Â
So for now just hang tight, and we'll get back to you as soon as we get word from them!Â

G'day Jacqui,Â
I'm so sorry about the wait, this seems to be a mystery that even (several people) at Coleman can't get to the bottom of - it must be a feature that was added by Coleman USA which may explain why no-one from the Australian office knows about it.Â

Hi all,Â
We've just had a chat with our Coleman rep while he was in store, and he's finally given us an answer! The attachment points are for the elastic cords (that are available in the US) to go across the top where you can store dry goods like a picnic blanket etc.Â
