You’ll be the king or the queen of your very own castle with the Chateau 12 from OZtrail. This tent can house you, and 11 of your closest friends or family in its roomy interior.
This tent is the ultimate canvas cabin tent in the OZtrail range and features four rooms including two fully enclosed bedrooms for privacy. The near vertical walls really add to the livability as it will offer you plenty of headroom – which is perfect for large groups.
Your interior will stay well ventilated even with a full house, as the double front D doors, side doors and large from windows all have No-See-Um mesh panels for lots of air flow and insect protection. The windows have gusseted panels for keeping the rain out, and the heavyweight PVC vinyl floor will protect you from the ground up.
With an extended front awning which allows for you to attach the included sunroom and floor, you can use it as some shaded area, or add some more space to your shelter. The included sunroom has 3-in-1 walls, so you can use one as a wind-break, just two or all three for a fully enclosed awning via Velcro attachments.
The next time you have a massive group camping trip coming up, you can rely on the Chateau 12 from OZtrail.
Could you send me a link of the sunroom that comes with this tent chateau 12. Thanks
G'day Scott,
Unfortunately, I'm unable to provide a link to show the internal space of the OZtrail Chateau 12 Tent Sunroom as we only have photos provided by OZtrail and they only have the front view and floor plan available. I'm really sorry about that.
Hello, I am hoping you could shed some light on the size of this tent for us. I’m tossing up between the chateau 10 and this - I love the space but worry it will be to large for an average campsite. I cannot find anywhere where it is setup to visualise it, so was wondering if you could advise me - is it similar size to a caravan would you think? Thankyou 😊
G'day Scott,
The OZtrail Chateau 12 Cabin Tent Sunroom is a very large tent. In the specifications tab of the product page, you'll find the dimensions of both tents you're at. The Chateau 12 is 7.8m in length and 4.8m in width. The Chateau 10 is 5.8m in length and 4.65m in width so either way, you'll want to arrange large campsites to accommodate. If you jump onto Youtube, there are a couple of videos that have been posted by campers. That may give you an idea of how large they really are. I hope this helps.
How long does it realistically take to set up this tent with 2 able people?
G'day Belinda,
For a tent of this size with two people, it's likely that it will take you anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour to set the Chateau 12 Cabin Tent from OZtrail up depending on how experienced you are. I hope this helps, Belinda.
How is the sun room attached? Is it fully enclosed like another room and is it mozzie
G'day Josh,
I've just had a chat with Oztrail about this for you and they confirmed that the sunroom on the Oztrail Chateau 12 Cabin Tent zips up to create a fully enclosed room. So you shouldn't have any worries with those pesky birds!
Is there a purpose made ground sheet for this tent? If not, what would you recommend.
G'day Paul,
Oztrail doesn't make a specific groundsheet for the Chateau 12, but you could look at the 12x20 foot Oztrail Ultramesh Tarp. It's the only one that's wide enough and would have enough depth that it would act as a bit of a doormat under the tent's awning.
When are you expecting more stock?
G'day Greyham,
Unfortunately, we're still waiting on Oztrail to manufacture the Chateau 12 Cabin Tent. I've just called them and they are estimating Mid-September 2017.
hi we are upgrading from a dome 3 bedroom as the new queen airbed needs to fit. it is 203 long, 155 wide but 56cm high! the dome tent side comes in to much for at the 56cm mark, even though the bedroom fits a king on the floor. Do you know how vertical the end walls are? will we be ok?
G'day Jo,
We don't have this tent set up as it is such a large model, and we haven't tested it with different beds and stretcher - so I’ve given Oztrail a call about your query. They said that the sides of the Chateau 12 are quite vertical, and are at an approximately 85-degree angle – so in theory, you should be able to fit your queen air bed in the sleeping area which is 240L x 210W cm.
Also, do you have anything like an awning with walls to attach to the back opening door to make a shower/toilet room for this tent?
G'day Vicky,
Great question, many others would want to know this one too! This tent does come in two bags, with the poles separated from the main part of the tent.
Both the poles and the 340gsm canvas are quite heavy so the manufacturer has split them into these two bags for easier transport.
I would still suggest each bag should be a two person lift if carrying it any distance, however you will just adore this huge comfortable tent! Cheers!
As in,can you access the tent from the other side than where the awning is?
Howdy Michael,
Yes, this tent does have a single door at the back for a rear entrance. The double doors at the front of the tent go out into the awning area which can be enclosed with the sunroom.
There are also doors at each end of the tent for entry into the bedrooms. The separators between the rooms feature a single and double doors that can be rolled back, but will not make the tent completely open as it is designed as a three room tent.
Are the included sunroom walls canvas or polyester?
This question even had the folk at Oztrail scratching their head Adrian, so I went and physically checked myself. The Sunroom with the Chateau 12 has canvas walls and a PVC floor. It's a big tent, great for long stays with the family.
