How noisy are these ? What is the decibel level? There’s nothing in the descriptions to suggest noise level, like there usually is for caravan fridges. I have watch ed your utube clip checking decibels with an app. I currently have a caravan fridge which is really quiet—good because I sleep very near it, but I want to get the chest type fridge/freezer and am worried about the noise. I am full time in my van. Thanks
G'day Joy,
That's an excellent question & we don't have a decibel level for you but I can give you some personal insight if that would help!
I have the MyCooman 85L Dual Zone in my van. We have a sprinter with a bed platform which is just aluminum rails with plywood over the top. The fridge actually lives under our bed at the back door on a fridge slide, which also happens to be our head end.
There's no insulation or sound deadening, and at night if we're lying in bed reading we can hear the compressor come on and off occasionally, but it doesn't cause a problem, and certainly doesn't stop you from falling asleep or disturb your sleep at all.
We go away a lot, through high summer and winter, and haven't noticed a difference in noise with the seasons either.
I know that the assessment of noise is subjective, but I think having it under our heads when we sleep is a good endorsement.
The only thing is that I find the blue light from the fridge display annoying, so cover it up with a bit of tape.
Hope that helps in some way!
Hey Snowys, can you configure the two compartments to run as two fridge compartments or two freezer compartments?
G'day Paul,
Yes, you can. Each compartment on the myCOOLMANCCP96DZ Dual Zone Portable Fridge/Freezer is individually controlled, so they will operate at whatever temperature you set for them.
Hi , there’s the possibility to have a cable with the Anderson plug for this fridge?
G'day Jarno,
Yes, you could have an auto-electrician make a cable with an Anderson plug on it for you.
What litre size is each compartment. Also when running on 12v does it maintain temperature on cig socket or do you need to run on anderson ug
G'day Adam,
You can find the internal dimensions and capacity in litres of each compartment listed under the internal dimensions of the specifications section on the product page. It can maintain temperature with the supplied cable that has a cig socket plug end.
I wont always need both compartments can you leave one of them off ?
G'day David,
Yes, you can turn off one of the compartments of the CCP96 if you're not wanting to use both all the time.
