The Catalyst 3-Person Tent by Marmot is for the stargazers and card-gamer kind of campers!
A free-standing design with colour-coded, easy-pitch clips and fly has this tent faster to set up than a marshmallow melts on an open flame. Sleep side by side in a tent that has you covered too, come rain, hail, and shine – with tiebacks on the full-coverage fly for stargazing, plus seam-taping to prevent water resistance and invasion during wet conditions.
Move freely in and out of your outback hangout thanks to the double, dual-zipped, D-shaped doors that roll away to allow an open setup. Store the loose camp clobber in the substantial vestibule space too – and there’s more where that came from (literally), with interior pockets for stashing the smaller knick-knacks. Plus, bring the campsite ambience thanks to a lampshade pocket for your headlamp.
Two’s company and three’s a Catalyst – with the Marmot Catalyst 3-Person Tent.

Marmot Tungsten 3−Person Tent1 answer
Hi there, what are the main differences between this tent and Marmot Tungsten 3−Person Tent?
Kelly - Northcote, VIC(1 year ago)
G'day Kelly,
The Catalyst is slightly heavier, using the same materials across all elements of the tent, whereas the Tungsten uses a slightly different grade and style of fabric to reduce abit of weight. The waterproofing and overall performance between the two is fairly equal. The Catalyst has a bit more headroom, and a dual zipper vestibule on each side meaning it sets up abit differently - two zippers = two peg points per side, compared to Tungsten's single point. Overall the floor and vestibule space is the same, but the main consideration is weight. If you are looking for something for hiking specifically, the Tungsten would be the better option.
