When a standard poly tarp just won’t cut it, get a Jolly Swagman Canvas Tarp. Made the old-fashioned way with 14oz canvas double stitched hems and seams, the Jolly Swagman Tarpaulins also feature solid brass eyelets, reinforced corners and are treated to be waterproof and mildew resistant.
Replace your old lightweight tarps with a tarp that is tough enough to be used over and over again. Perfect for shelters, groundsheets, picnic rugs, industry and around the home.
Could you please tell me the size of the eyelets on the 6x8 tarp
Loren Niwa - Hervey Bay(6 years ago)
G'day Loren,
The eyelets on the Jolly Swagman tarps are reasonably generous with an internal diameter of around 16mm.

Can this tarp be used as a ground sheet1 answer
I would like to find out if i could use the tarp under my tent as a ground sheet?
George - Adelaide(8 years ago)
G'day George,Â
I can't see why not! The Jolly Swagman Canvas Tarp is waterproofed and very durable, so if you can find a size that will suit your tent then it would be a good option to protect the underside of your tent.Â

6x8 Jolly Swagman canvass tarp eyelet position1 answer
Where are the eyelets positioned on the 6x8 Jolly Swagman canvass tarp? thank you
Nick - CREMORNE, NSW(8 years ago)
Hi Nick,
I've checked this one for you and it has an eyelet in each corner and then two eyelets on each side evenly spaced, coming to a total of 12 eyelets.
If you need to know how many eyelets are on any of the other sizes, just let us know.

What is the exact eyelet to eyelet dimension in both directions?1 answer
I'm looking for a canvas tarp I can use as a cover for a 6 x 4 trailer and need the eyelets to sit beyond the trailer edges wo they don't let water in.
Cheers
Rohan

Hi Rohan, each eyelets sit at 45 - 50mm in from the edge of the tarp. So keeping in mind that there are small variances between each tarp, and that canvas may stretch a little, the eyelets are approximately 1020mm apart in width, and 1750mm in length.

are there eyelets midway on each 4 sides?
wade - perth(9 years ago)
Hi Wade, the spacings are not exactly even, but on top of an eyelet in each corner, there are a further two eyelets on each of the shorter sides, and three on each of the longer sides.

Can these be used as a camper trailer cover?1 answer
I have unsuccessfuly tried storm covers for my camper trailer. Most fabrics degrade quickly in the sun or are a significant sum of money. I am keen to try canvas and note your tarps. Would you consider them suitable as rain and sun protection for a camper?
Email enquiry - Snowys(10 years ago)
Nothing seems to be UV proof, there are some treatments designed to protect the fabric, but they need constant re-application. When it comes to UV resilience however, canvas seems to be the best. Eventually it will degrade, but will outlast any synthetic fabric, particularly nylon. This would make the canvas tarps a cost effective alternative to custom made camper covers, as long as you find a size that fits. I recommend securing such that water does not pool on top of the canvas to maximize water resistance.
