What is the length of hose that comes with the stove. Is it possible to use a longer hose of say, 2metres?
G'day David,
This one comes with a 1.2m hose, which is the maximum possible length of hose that can be used with most camp stoves.
A longer hose affects Gas pressure and rate of delivery, and increases the risk of flame outs, or an explosion if a spark back occurs.
Are the grill plates replaceable? Can you buy them separately down the track if needed?
G'day Karlee,
They are available from the Cadac Dometic international website, so I reckon you'd be able to pick some up from Dometic Australia.
Alternatively there are some generic grill plates around that should work aswell.
Can this cooker be used with disposable cartridges like the coleman eventemp?
G'day Blue,
This cooker can only be used with Gas Bottles with an LCC27 gas fitting, this is not compatible with the BOM disposable cartridges.
Hi, when will you be getting the newest model, Turbo deluxe with FFD feature? The newer model is safe for use with bayonet fittings. But I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere on Australia at the moment.
G'day Glen,
Not entirely sure sorry - its not a model that is listed in any of catalogues.
Not all Cadac models are available in Australia, so it may be that the Turbo Deluxe is a European release only at this stage.
Would a Sea 2 Summit X-pot keetle fit on this stove? Or are the burners to big?
G'day Gary,
It would, but only just and it's not an ideal fit - it wouldn't take much for the kettle to slip off.
We'd recommend using pits with a minimum diameter of about 16cm.
what is the size of the gas inlet fitting on this stove.
G'day Ross,
The gas hose connection on the stove itself is a male 1/4" BSP fitting.
Hope that helps!
Hi - How long will it take to use a 4kg gas bottle with both burners at maximum output? I am comparing to a Companion model which has much higher BTU per burner (25k vs. ~7k here), and was surprised to see your website indicate that the run time would be better on the Companion (524g/hr vs. 592g/hr here). Thanks!
G'day Alice,
We can only go off the specifications provided to us by the manufacturer.
In the case of the Cadac, this is a total of 588g p/hr (294g per burner). 4kg gas bottles are generally filled with a maximum of 3.7kg of gas, so some simple maths suggests a total runtime on max of 6.29hrs.
Can I connect this stove to my Caravan via the Bayonet?
Hey Brian,
Unfortunately, the Cadac stove is not compatible for use with a caravan, or bayonet gas system. It does not have a flame failure feature, and using an aftermarket gas hose may cause issues.
Can i use a Resealable Propane Cartridge 468g with a 2 Burner Stove Regulator Assembly with this item.
G'day Jayden,
You can't, no. The Regulator Assembly is only compatible with particular stove models, and is not related to the Propane Cartridges specifically.
This stove requires a regulated gas supply and comes with a LCC27 gas hose and regulator for use on Swap and Go LPG gas bottles.
Dometic don't provide an alternative hose for disposable propane cannisters for this stove.
Would there happen to be a standard 90 degree fitting that can go on the end of the stove connection? i.e. so the gas hose runs of the back (or down the side) of a table better...
G'day Rog,
No, there's not unfortunately. The Cadac stove has the same gas hose connection, on the stove end, as a stove I used to have.
We were also hoping to find a 90° adapter, but there isn't one available anywhere that we could find.
Does this come complete with carry bag?
G'day Bernadette,
Yep, it sure does - you can check this out at around the 20sec mark on our product review video.
Hope that helps!
HI, Just wondering how heat resistant are the rubber feet? And is there is there a duffle bag or similar suitable for this Dometic Gas Stove for storage/transport?
G'day Michael,
This Cadac stove has been around for several years in Europe, so there's no question or concern about the rubber/silicone feet. They're in place to protect the stove from scratching and prevent the ceramic plates from slipping around on the stovetop.
If you check out the product review video we have, you should be able to see Ben talking through the storage bag that comes with the stove for transport and protection - hope that helps!
I have a small gas bottle with a 3/8 fitting. How would i connect this cooker to the gas bottle?
G'day Chris,
It's best recommended to get a gas bottle with the LCC27 fitting as the use of adaptors can increase the risk of gas leaks.
There is a new adaptor from Gasmate and it is possible to use a 3/8" BSPP LH TO LCC27 adaptor on your gas bottle so you can then connect the hose.
Please note Dometic advise against the use of adaptors but it is possible to do so.
G’day, is there some way to use a 2kg gas bottle for this stove? I’d prefer not to get the bigger 4kg bottle (which has the required Lcc27 fitting). Getting a bit confused. Cheers
G'day Andrew,
There's not at this stage - LCC27 hoses can only be used with LCC27 fittings, and cannot be used with adapters due to the safety elements of the design.
There may be a broader range of LCC27 gas bottle sizes produced in the future, but I've actually never seen a regulated gas stove with a 3/8th BSP connection. Generally, low pressure stoves that require a regulated gas supply will have an LCC27 hose.
Hi, is there a way to lock the lid open when cooking (like the build in clips on the eventemp wind shield)? Or could the lid get blown down onto your pots while cooking? Thanks
G'day Chris,
There isn't a particular mechanism to hold the lid up, but the lid is tightly attached so it wouldn't move with a gust of wind and when the 2 x included windshields on the side are attached, they stop the lid from closing.
What is the gas connection to the stove? Is it a 3/8 SAEF or a 1/4 fitting. Looking at purchasing a bayonet hose to connect to the bayonet fitting on our motorhome.
G'day Gary,
Unfortunately, the Cadac stove is not compatible for use with a caravan, or bayonet gas system. It does not have a flame failure feature, and using an aftermarket gas hose may cause issues which wouldn't be covered under warranty.
Hey there, With the ceramic coated plates. Is it a ceramic plate with a coating (ie non stick). Or another material plate that is coated in ceramic? I’m looking for a low tox option (would prefer cast iron) but ceramic comes in second best for me.
G'day Nicola,
The term 'ceramic' in terms of cookware across the board (not just camping gear) relates to a ceramic-based coating of another material, which results in a non-stick surface.
Hope that helps!
Is this a low pressure stove?
G'day Mary,
It is a low-pressure stove, but compatible with LCC27 gas supply on standard LPG bottles only.
1. Are the ceramic grill plates non stick? 2. Could you use this stove on a typical camping fold up trestle table without issues of it burning the table? Or if not is there something cheap and simple I could place underneath it to protect the table? 3. How sturdy is the outside lid etc, the hyperflame (which I am also considering) looks very sturdy but worried this might dent easily Thanks
G'day Sarah,
Yes, ceramic-coated cookware generally falls under the 'non-stick' category. You can absolutely use this stove on a camp table, just like any other camp stove. If you're concerned you could just pop a chopping board underneath it, but you shouldn't have any issues.
The outside lid is as sturdy as any other camp stove. The Hyperflame is known to be the most robust option, but generally all camp stoves across the range are made with similar materials of a similar thickness.
As long as you're not throwing the stove around or packing it carelessly, you shouldn't have any issues. I've had a few camp stoves over 20 years, and never had one dint.
Hope that helps.
Hi can this stove be run on disposable propane bottles? Thanks
G'day Robyn,
This stove runs off normal LPG cylinders with the LCC27 fitting - like the updated version of what you would find at a swap-and-go, or attached to your BBQ.
Its not compatible with disposable gas cylinders. Good thing about that though is you can use refillable cylinders for years and years, and not have to chuck multiple gas bottle out.
Hope that helps.
I'd love to know how it compares to the Weber Traveller
G'day Tony,
We dont sell Weber gear sorry, so don't have any personal experience with that particular stove.
Bens done a product review video on this one which will be coming out really soon, hopefully the will give you all the info you need!
