Hi just interested if this would work with a hiking thermacell to allow the cheap butane canisters to be used Thanks
Good question, Edward. I guess that technically this would work, but I'd recommend sticking with the regular hiking stove canisters. Adding adapters to any gas setup increases the chances of leaks and issues.
Thinking of purchasing the zempire deluxe gas stove - with this adapter can I use up my butane cartridges that I have at home ? They are as in picture with the adapter .
G'day Rhonda,
No, LPG/Propane stoves are not compatible with butane gas.
This adapter allows you to use small hiking stoves with a Lindal Valve attachment (as seen in the second photo), instead of using the standard isobutane hiking gas canisters.
Hello, does the MSR PocketRocket Hiking Stove fit this butane canister adapter. Thank you.
G'day Paul,
Yes, this adapter is compatible with any Lindal Valve stoves or appliances. The performance of your stove may be affected by the different gas types though, depending on conditions, but you'll have no issues with physical compatibility.
Do you have anything in stock that fits this to make this into a stove?
G'day Jade,
We do mention in the description that these are compatible with hiking stoves or lanterns. Hiking stoves and lanterns generally attach via Lindal valve connection, which is what is ontop of this Gasmate adapter.
You can find these stoves in the hiking stove section online.
Please bare in mind that these butane cartridges have limited performance in cold weather or early mornings, and they have a lower BTU or heat output. They're ideally suited for warm weather or middle of the day cooking when the ambient temperature is higher.
Hope that helps.
Hi, Can the butane cartridge adaptor be used with the trangia gas burner?
G'day Brendan,
No, the Gasmate Butane Cartridge adapter cannot be used with a Trangia, it is designed to be used with compact screw-in hiking stoves.
Does the Coleman Fyrelite Backpacking Stove fit on this adaptor so that a butane can can be used instead of the cannisters?
G'day Tania,
You can use the Butane Cartridge Adaptor with the Fyrelite Backpacker Stove, however, all this adaptor does is convert Isobutane canisters with a Lindal valve, to aerosol style butane canisters. This style of stove can only be used with canisters.
Does this fit the Snowpeak Gigapower stove? Thanks.
G'day Andrew,
Good question, it's hard to know. We don't sell the Snow Peak stove so it's hard to check, but I assume it should fit based on the images I've seen of the stove online.
