I believe cooking with aluminium products is a bad health risk, how does this product stack up?
Ian - 6065(6 years ago)
G'day Ian,
The reason scientists recommend not cooking with aluminium products is that knives, forks, spatulas etc. can scratch off bits of aluminium and it'll end up in your food. If you're only boiling water in the Campfire Billy Teapot, then you'll be perfectly fine!

Can this Billy be used on a portable induction cooker ?1 answer
Todd - LAUNCESTON, TAS(9 years ago)
I'm no expert on the science of induction cook-tops sorry Todd, but my understanding is that they use a magnetic field to create heat, the cookware therefore needs to be magnetic, which this billy being made of alloy isn't. The tin billy's that we sell are magnetic, so in theory these should work. Sorry I'm not being really clear on this, it may be worth asking some questions of the induction stove top manufacturer.

Can this be used on coals and also on a gas camper stove?1 answer
Johanna - ADELAIDE, SA(9 years ago)
Yes to both of these Johanna. It has a heat proof plastic handle, so it would be best sitting on a bed of coals rather than amongst roaring flames, but this is the case with most camp kettles.
