With a compact size and durable materials, the Oztrail Biker Swag is perfect for individuals setting themselves up for motorcycle touring, horseback adventures, or anyone with restricted packing space.
A slightly lighter weight 230gsm SatProof 600+ ripstop canvas combines with a 5cm open cell foam mattress in a 2 pole dome design that packs up to just 50cm in length for easy packing onto a motorbike. The waterproof PVC base adds another level of water protection both when in use and when strapped to your bike.
Easy access through top and end openings both with canvas and mesh layers which combine with a weather protected mesh panel at the foot end for superior ventilation. Heavy duty roll straps are incorporated into the design making your Biker Swag quick and easy pack up.
How wind proof is this swag?
G'day dB,
The Oztrail Biker Swag has been discontinued, it's been replaced by the new Oztrail Biker Expedition Swag which you can find here.
Does the biker swag or the biker expedition come with the oztrail biker swag bag or do you have to buy it separately?
G'day dB,
The Oztrail Biker Swag and Oztrail Biker Expedition Swag both come without a swag bag, you'd need to grab one of those separately.
what's the difference between the biker swag and the biker expedition swag, especially when biker expeditin swag is twice the price?
G'day dB,
There are a few minor differences between the Oztrail Biker Swag and the new Oztrail Biker Expedition Swag. Not any huge massive differences though, just some improvements to most aspects of the swag. The reason for the apparent price jump though is just that we slashed the price of the old model to below cost to clear stock. The price used to be almost identical to that of the new model.
What is the model, price and weight etc of your recommended swags with this feature ? Starting from the less to the more expensive.
G'day Alastair,
Most swags will have ventilation at the foot end, a great quality and affordable option would be the Oztrail Mitchell King which is available for pre-order here (currently undergoing an update in the model).
If you'd like to discuss more of the specifics around the swag range, please don't hesitate to give us a buzz on 1300 914 007 and we can talk these through with you.
On a hot night I imagine that flow through ventillation is important. Maybe I need a different model to have that feature ?
G'day Alastair,
No mesh at the foot end with the Oztrail Biker Swag, unfortunately. If this is a feature you're after for the added ventilation, I'd recommend looking at a different model.
I wish to deflate the air mattress inside the swag with my sleeping bag and roll it up all together
G'day Geoff,
I've heard a few stories of people doing this. No reason why you can't. Would be a great way to save a bit of extra weight and room.
I'm currently travelling Australia, and have had some bad experiences in hostels, so my question is, can I just set this up on top of my hostel bed?
G'day Kate,
The Oztrail Biker Swag isn't going to be a good option to use indoors, as it's not freestanding. You might be able to tie it to the bunk to give it its structure, but we can't guarantee that would work.
You may want to consider using a combination of a mat, with a fitted sheet over it, on top of the hostel bed - that way you'll still have a buffer between you and the bed.
How waterproof is this swag in general and what is there to stop water getting in the head end?
G'day Ben,
The Oztrail Biker Swag has a waterhead rating of 600mm which is similar to other Oztrail Swags across their range. The difference is that as it is designed to be a lightweight and compact swag, the canvas isn't as thick as others with its GSM being lower. I'd say that a good description of its ability would be that it can withstand rain showers, but I wouldn't feel too confident in storms.
At the head end, the canvas panel is zipped internally allowing you to close off from ventilation if the weather does turn, without getting out of the swag.
Hi, I was wondering how well this holds up in rain/heavy rain as it doesn't appear to have a flap at the head end, to cover the zip?
G'day Sean,Â
From looking at the product image I can see where your concern is, I've just had a look at our display model - and the Oztrail Biker Swag does have a canvas flap that will cover the mesh/zip.
In rainy conditions, just guy rope it out taut, and you should have full water protection.Â
Hi, I have been given a biker swag but poles a broken. Can I buy a new set? Thanks heaps. Cheers
Hi Peter, the good news is that Darche do sell the Ranger Solo Biker Poles as spare parts, so you can have that swag up and running again. We don’t sell spare parts through our online store - but if you give our service team a call on 1300 914 007 then we can take down your full details and sort something out for you. Just make sure you mention this online inquiry to get them up to speed.
The picture shows the swag has the metal poles but they aren't listed in the description. Also does it come with a carry bag or do I have to purchase one seperately? Finally, I am intending to use the swag up north in the Pilbara, will I need an airbed or should the mattress be sufficient and if so, what type do you recommend?
