If you’re searching for a plush, versatile and spacious synthetic bag for luxurious camping trips, the Basecamp Bc3 ticks all those boxes and more.
The Basecamp features a contoured rectangular shape so that you can stretch out comfortably, and has a shell and lining made from lightweight and compressible nylon. To keep you warm, this bag has layers of looped THERMOLITE insulation, which traps warm air for comfort. The webbing loop system allows you to connect your bag to your sleeping mat, and to stop you getting tangled, the lining is attached to the shell.
The three two-way zips on this bag allow you to separate the top and bottom layers so you can use the top as a quilt when the conditions call for it, or add ventilation to it. With a -5°C comfort rating and a -12°C lower limit, the Bc3 is suitable for colder sleepers or excursions in cooler conditions.
The roomy Basecamp BcII from Sea to Summit is the sleeping bag that prioritises comfort for a soundless sleep on your adventures.

Suitable for swag1 answer
Will this bag fit ok in a 90cm wide swag and is it fine to keep rolled up in the swag for storage , also I am 180cm tall will it be roomy enough?
Matthew - Carlton River, TAS(4 years ago)
G'day Matthew,
Yes, you can use the Basecamp Bc3 inside a 90cm wide swag, that won't be a problem. They can be rolled up and stored with the swag, just be sure to store your swag somewhere where the temperature won't fluctuate too much, and where there isn't any risk of damp. The Regular length bag is designed for people up to 183cm tall, so you're on the cusp, but the bag should just be long enough for you.

Hi could you please tell me the compressed size of this bag and is there any chance of a video showing someone in it and packing it up, like your other videos online. Thankyou 1 answer
I’m after an all round sleeping bag for school camps that cover a wide range of temps, have a good quality build and compress quite small. I found seeing the bags in your videos made it easier to work out the size with someone in it and the size when compressed. Would really appreciate your help. Thanks
Jenny - North Richmond NSW(5 years ago)
G'day Jenny,
The size of the compression bag for the BcIII - Regular is a Large, 20L down to 6.5L compressed. You can see a photo of the size comparison against a 1L Camelbak bottle in the last of the product images. We do have all the Sea to Summit Sleeping bags our our upcoming videos, so watch this space.
This bag is a unisex bag, so in terms of the unisex regular fit for length, you could look at the other Sea to Summit bags Ben has reviewed for a general indication. In terms of overall space, this bag is designed for unrestricted sleeping, with loads of room for moving around and curling up, etc. Its the most similar to quilt sleeping, but inside a bag!

Joining bags together 1 answer
Hi if I buy a regular and a long bag in this model, can both be joined together to form a quilt? Thanks
Ann - 2000(5 years ago)
G'day Ann,
Yes, you can join together two Basecamp BC3 Sleeping Bags, with one regular length, and one long length. The side zippers are the same length so they can be joined together and then one side will have a slightly longer foot box length.
