The Darche AWOL 900 swag is the kind of swag you can rely on in basically any situation. With the ability to cope with a wide range of conditions from the red-hot centre of Australia, all the way up to the high country of Australia – the humble AWOL won’t let you down.
Made from Darche’s signature rot proof and ripstop canvas, it’ll weather all kinds of conditions so that you won’t have to. You won’t miss out on that view of the southern skies, as this swag has a full mesh top that’ll give you that stellar view and will keep condensation at bay. There’s nothing worse than feeling constricted and suffocated inside your swag. That’s why Darche have added an alternative entry at the top of the swag to keep a steady flow of air going inside your shelter.
The three-hoop structure will keep the swag away from your body – giving you that extra breathing room for a more spacious and liveable interior. For a solid night’s sleep under the stars, you can’t go past the Darche AWOL.
Is the urban AWOL 900 swag free standing or do you need guide ropes
sara - victoria(4 years ago)
G'day Sara,
On its own, this swag isn't free-standing - as it needs the guy ropes to provide tension and stop it collapsing on itself. Lots of people use a spreader pole and do away with the guy ropes altogether. Something like the C-Clip T-Nut Spreader Pole should do the trick!

G'day Tony,
I've spoken to Darche and they confirmed it is a half mesh / half canvas opening at the foot end.

Bag1 answer
Hi, What swag bag would be best for this swag? I've looked but not sure which is best Cheers
Hi, I sleep on a stretcher to stay off the ground, is it possible to have a pole across the top you stretch the swag out rather than having to peg it down? How would it go set up and sleeping in it on a stretcher, would it work ok? Cheers!
Matt - Wagga Wagga(6 years ago)
G'day Matt,
You can certainly use a C-Clip T-Nut Spreader Pole on your Urban AWOL 900 Swag to keep it stretched out. Lots of people will put this swag on a stretcher so you shouldn't have any problems.

What is the dimensions of the mattress?1 answer
Some of the darche swags have got a mattress smaller than that of the room given by the swag proper (eg biker solo). Just wondering if this mattress fills all the real estate?

G'day Joshua,
The mattress on the Darche Urban AWOL 900 Swag goes virtually right up to the edge of the floor.
