A soft rubbery matting that can be chopped and trimmed to suit your needs, a layer of Kookaburra Annexe Matting in your camp or caravan site is akin to laying new carpet in your house, creating a clean and welcoming environment to cook, clean and relax in.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, this Annex matting is also useful to line ute trays, vehicle boots or for a ground cover at markets and sporting events.
UV stabilised, weather and rot proof, and easily cleaned with a hose or some soapy water, the Kookaburra Annexe Matting is a durable and versatile ground cover for a host of outdoor applications.
Can you advise if this matting is breathable and won't damage the grass ..

G'day Deborah,
The Kookaburra Annex Mat is fairly breathable and have plenty of holes in them to allow the grass to breathe.

Trip Hazard1 answer
Hi, I'm wondering if this is suitable for inside a tent or would it slip around and become a trip hazard? Thanks
Colleen - Kiama(6 years ago)
G'day Colleen,
The Kookaburra Annex Mat is definitely suitable inside the tent. It's made from a slightly spongy PVC type material so tends to be fairly grippy (a little like the non-slip mats you can put in cutlery draws).

Kookaburra Annexe Mat1 answer
Does the dirt, sand and water go through this annexe mat, therefore is it suitable for caravan parks? Thanks.
Wendy - 5271(6 years ago)
G'day Wendy,
Yep, you're spot on there. Dirt and water can filter through these mats so they're a great option for using in a caravan park.

Matting to go under coleman tent1 answer
Would this be better protection under my tent or the oztrail ultramesh tarp Thanks Michael
Michael - Dunlop(6 years ago)
G'day Michael,
The Kookaburra Annex Mat is pretty similar to the Ultramesh in purpose, the Annex Mat will generally be a better option in your awning or annexe and the Ultramesh is usually a better option under the tent.

Can this type of matting allow tent pegs to be punched through it1 answer
Considering using this matting to go under the tent as a protector to the tent floor base.
Paul Muling - Forest Hill Melbourne(6 years ago)
G'day Paul,
You sure can put pegs through these but have a read of our blog post about groundsheets first. We give a few suggestions on ways to reinforce the tarp before you do this.

Does this product have any eyelets to peg it down?1 answer
Phil - CURRIMUNDI, QLD(10 years ago)
Hi Phil, the edges are simply a straight cut. I don't think the material would handle eyelets very well as they would pull out easily. It is heavier than a standard tarp, and given the mesh like nature of the matting, it is unlikely to blow too far in the wind.

is it slippery when wet1 answer
christine - FINGAL BAY, NSW(10 years ago)
Hi Christine, we have had no reports of this mat being slippery when wet. It is designed such that water will run through it when being used in a caravan annexe or campsite. However, I would imagine that as with most surfaces, the addition of excessive water is probably going to increase the likelihood of the matting becoming slippery.
