Yes, synthetic sleeping bags are Machine Washable in a front loader. You may find that a commercial heavy duty machine will be easier to manage than your home machine!  To get started, make sure that all zips and tabs are fastened. Use a Gentle Cycle and set the temperature to no warmer than 30°C. Only use a wool mix or a pure mild soap.

To Dry the sleeping bag you can use a tumble dryer on a very low temperature - a high temperature can melt the fabric!  Alternatively, you can dry it flat on towels either over clothes racks or on a trampoline. Drying it in the shade will ensure the UV rays won't degrade the fabric plus if the weather is hot and dry - use this to your advantage, to help it dry completely. If it's still damp at the end of the day the dryer is a great option for finishing off the drying process.

Zipper side is determined by laying on your back in your sleeping bag.  Left zip on left, right zip on right, in this orientation.  Hope this helps.

You can tighten the hood but unfortunately, the OZtrail Alpine View Jumbo Hooded Sleeping Bag does not come with a chest baffle.

I've taken a shot of the Alpine View bag compressed for you. You'll need a pretty big backpack to fit it in! If you are asking if it's suitable for hiking, I'd say it's probably a bit too big and heavy for most of us. Unfortunately, the Oztrail Alpine View Jumbo Hooded Sleeping Bag doesn't come with a removable liner, it's all sewn in.

The Oztrail Alpine View Jumbo Hooded Sleeping Bag can be unzipped all the way around to use as a blanket. Just keep in mind though that one person will have to contend with the hood being in the face or tucked away over their chest.

Sorry for the confusion. The Oztrail Alpine View Jumbo Hooded Sleeping Bag has a comfort rating of -7° and an extreme rating of -12°. This means that most people will be comfortable when it's -7° but you can survive at -12°, albeit not comfortably.

It is absolutely possible to connect two Oztrail Alpine View Jumbo Hooded sleeping bags together. Just ensure you choose a left zip and a right zip bag.

As the Oztrail Alpine View is a polyester bag, we would recommend hand-washing. Placing it in the washing machine can be a bit too abrasive and you run the risk of damaging/ripping the fabric.

And yes - the zip does go across the bottom.
