Ultra-light and super tough, the Aircontact Core 65+10 SL Trekking Backpack by Deuter will have you backpacking like a boss.
The less weight you carry, the more energy you have to go the distance – so a Y-frame design allows for more direct load transfer and load control, supporting Deuter’s famous Aircontact system. The result? A sturdy, comfortable pack that’s easy to carry with excellent freedom of movement, plenty of cushioning, and ventilation. An elasticated inner compartment stores the wet and dirty gear, with room for a 3-litre water bladder to hang inside.
Ergonomically designed Active Fit shoulder straps offer comfort, while pull-forward hip fins with lumbar support transfer the load effectively to the pelvis, causing less back pain and strain on the shoulders. Stow it safely with the spindrift drawstring collar beneath the lid; the latter is removable and height adjustable, offering up to 5 extra litres of internal space. Three outer pockets offer handy stash spaces for water bottles, energy bars, snacks, and maps, while zippered pockets on the hip fins keep your valuables within reach.
The Deuter Aircontact Core 65+10 SL Trekking Backpack is for the trail trampers and travel junkies of the track.

Would this be the right size of pack for a 1-2 night hiking trip for teenagers? I’ve never done any hiking myself but my daughter is, and is now doing her Duke of Edinburgh so looking for a pack she can use now and in the future.

G'day Vanessa,
This bag would suit anywhere from an overnight hike to Multi-day hikes as it is designed to pack everything from your tent and sleeping gear to your pots and pans. This is a great quality pack and would be a great size for now and suit any future use. Always good to try a pack on for sizing if you can, although these packs are very adjustable.
Yes, absolutely! SL just stands for slimline, which tents to suit women a bit better with narrow shoulders, but it's also a very popular/common choice for men with a slighter frame.
Yes. SL just means Slim Line, so whilst its primarily marketed at women because they tend to have narrower shoulders, it can absolutely be worn by anyone. A lot of men with smaller frames use the SL bags because they just fit better. Hope that helps.

Is the Deuter Aircontact Core 65 10 SL Backpack the best pack in the Deuter range? I am looking to hand my current pack to my 15yo and upgrade. I am 185cm and tend to do the heavy lifting on walks with the family.

G'day Cameron,
The SL models are 'slim line' or womens fit specific. They are narrower and have a shorter harness. We do have the unisex/mens version of this pack coming in the next week or two in a 60 10 or 70 10 capacity. Keep your eye on the website for these to be listed. The new Aircontact Core packs are the absolute business, so they'll be a great choice for you. Hope that helps.
