Can you please advise the weight of the coffee maker minus the case and the mug? I want to take this hiking, and already have a lightweight cup....just need to know if its a realistic option.
G'day Brian,
We've got some awesome calibrated scales here, and the weight of the kit without the hard case and the mug is 442g. I've also weighed it with the mug incase there are some trekkers out there who just want to leave the case at home, and that's 571g.
If you love stove top coffee, it could be a great option to take hiking, just depends on what your weight limit is, and whats your priority.
Hope that helps!
Will this work on an induction cook top?
G'day Matt,
We haven't personally tried it, but, as far as we're aware stainless steel is compatible with induction cooktops.
How can this be listed as a 4 cup coffee maker when the water volume is 310ml? It is making brewed coffee not 4 shots?
G'day Murray,
This is an espresso maker, so the 4 cup size is 4 cups of espresso. As the water is forced through the tamped coffee it is defined as espresso, rather than brewed coffee.
It is 4 double shots, uses a huge amt of coffee and makes 2 x 4 x 45 mL
Just wondering if this will fit nicely on the small portable cookers.
G'day Linda,
Yes, the Mini Espresso Maker is a great fit for the 360 degrees Furno stove.
Can this be used with the Triangia 25?
G'day Rob,
The 4 Cup Stainless Mini Espresso is a little too small to fit onto the potholders for the Trangia 25. We'd suggest pairing it with a small lightweight gas stove.
Hi there can you please advise the height gap between the plate and spout opening, so that I can see if my Snowy Peak stainless mug will fit? Thanks
G'day Karl,
The distance between the bottom of the spout to the plate on the GSI Outdoors 4 Cup Stainless Mini Expresso Maker is about 84mm.
