Make a meal that is the envy of everyone with the lightweight, compact Primus Deluxe Two Burner Gas Stove.
This stove is ideal for road trips and family camping adventures as it features 2 burners that each push out 8600 BTUs to get your cooking done easy and fast. The separate burner controls let you boil pasta and slowly heat sauce at the same time, and the piezo ignition sets the stove alight with the push of a button, so you don’t have to worry about wet matches or singeing the hairs on your arm.
The stove lid and sides are good windshields, and the chrome-plated drip tray and trivet are easy to clean. To top it off, the convenient carry handle makes it easy to cart the Primus Deluxe 2 Burner Stove to and from the campsite.
I bought a Colman Camo Oven on Amazon Australia and want to know if this little stove will heat it successfully. I would have bought it from you but you don't stock the one I was looking at... sorry
G'day Christine,
It's hard to say and Coleman won't comment on other brands, only that it works with 'Regular stove operation on any Coleman stove top'. We can't see why it wouldn't but cannot guarantee the performance of the oven with the Primus Stove.
180g gas consumed/hour with both burners burning?
G'day Carol,
Yes mate, that's with both burners going :)
please explain the difference between this model and he primus high output 2 burner stove. would both be suitable for simmering. i read in your 2018 stove review that the high output model was good for simmering, wondering if this one is similar? thanks
G'day Karline,
The 2 Burner High Output Stove is a much more powerful stove than the 2 Burner Deluxe Stove. The High Output Stove will pack a lot more heat, but also consume a lot more gas. While both are suitable for simmering we'd say the 2 Burner Deluxe will do a better job of dropping down to the low heat required to simmer.
do you have any idea of the gas useage with this model? whats the average burn time for the 3/8 standard gas bottle with this stove?
G'day Karline,
The Primus 2 Burner Stove uses 180 grams of gas per hour so the burn time will depend on the size of the bottle you're using. The 3/8" bottles come in 1.25kg, 2kg, 3kg and 4kg, so you should be able to just divide the size you want (in grams) by the consumption. For example, a 4kg bottle should last approximately 33 hours.
I am looking at a portable stove for use in a market stall for slow simmering, is this stove suitable or would you recommend another brand?
G'day Karline,
Yes, the Primus 2 Burner Deluxe Stove will be suitable to use at your market stall. The stove has
Is the drip tray removable for cleaning? If so, how do you remove it please
G'day Cathy,
Thanks for your enquiry. Looking at the model we have on display in-store, the drip tray is not detachable. However, the trivet is definitely removable, making it super easy to clean the drip tray and trivet.
Hi, Just purchased a Primus stove and noticed it came with 2 HM Jets for 8000BTU burner. Are these spares or do I need to fit them? There is nothing about them in the product instruction. Thanks
G'day Anthony,
The Jets supplied with the 2 Burner Deluxe Stove are spares, so you won't need to fit them unless you have issues with your jets down the track. Generally gas is fairly clean in Australia so it shouldn't be too much of an issue, and the jets in the unit should last a long time.
With the wind shields up, what is the largest pan that will sit centered over a single burner? Also, can the wind shields and lid be folded out of the way in a sheltered area to accept a larger pan?
G'day Tim,
I've just tried the Campfire Steel Frypan Non-Stick 28cm out on the 2 Burner Deluxe Stove. This was a good fit so you wouldn't want to go much larger (max 30cm frypan). The side windshields are on a hinge that won't allow them to drop flat out to the side, but the lid can be dropped flat. This obviously won't really help to accommodate a larger pan so we'd recommend leaving it up.
do i need any further fittings, regulator ,
G'day Bill,
Your 8.5kg gas bottle more than likely has a POL fitting and the hose that comes with the Primus 2 Burner Deluxe Stove is a 3/8" fitting, so you'll need to grab a Primus Gas Cylinder Adapter POL-3/8". The regulator is built into the stove so the adapter is all you'll need to get it going.
Do you sell a compatible stand that folds flat?
G'day Tob,
We sell the Zempire Stove Stand that will work well with the Primus 2 Burner Deluxe Stove.
Can you please confirm the dimensions of this unit. The Companion and competing websites have this unit as 465L x 285W x 90Hmm.
G'day Doug,
I've just gone and physically remeasured and including the folded legs and the allowance of knobs, the dimensions are 465L x 300W x 100H mm. We'll look to update our website now.
Primus Model 509023
G'day Amanda,
We'd need to look into this a little further as a special order. Could you give our customer support team a call on 1300 914 007 and they'll grab a few extra details to see if we can help you out.
My stove has very poor gas flow.
G'day Ross,
We've actually got a step by step guide over on the blog which may be of help which you can have a read of here.
The 2 Burner Deluxe is a little different to the one we used, so the way to access the jets will be different. You'll have to take off the wire frame, unhook each leg one at a time, and then you should be able to lift off the top - from there just follow the rest of the steps on the blog and you should be good to go!
Hi, Looking into buying a stove for our van conversion. Where would you recommend storing the gas bottle? We would prefer not to store inside the van. Would it be safe to store it standing upright on the roof racks?
G'day Tess. Storage of filled gas bottles does need to be outside of the van, in case of leakages. If your van is a towable, then a common place to store is on the A frame up front using bottle brackets. If your van is part of an all-in-one then I would suggest a call to a reputable reseller of this type of van to get advice. I would not be keen on recommending the bottles are stored on the roof racks as there may be issues with low hanging branches that could damage the lines and cause all sorts of unwanted situations from arising. Gas bottles should always be transported upright so wherever they are placed, they do need to be this orientation.Â
Standing in front of the cooker, is the gas connection on the right or left side and is it towards the front, rear or centre?
G'day Glenn,Â
I've just checked our display model for you and the gas connection of the Primus 2 Burner Deluxe Stove is on the right hand side, and is right in the centre.Â
The dimensions listed are they the packed measurements, not in a box? I am trying to find a smaller 2 burner stove which connects to an lpg gas bottle still.
I have purchased one of these stoves which comes with the 1200mm hose and I wish to buy a Primus 600mm hose as well. Do I need to purchase the HP600F(fine thread) or HP600C(coarse thread)?
It's a coarse thread hose on these Peter, so the HP600C will suit.
Apart from the colour and price, what's the difference between the Primus and Companion 2 burner deluxe stoves?
