How does it run from a jerry can/water tank1 answer
At 35 seconds in the vid it shows the unit running from a collapsible water tank? How does it connect?
Shaun - 6019(8 years ago)
G'day Shaun,
The collapsible water tank is provided by Coleman with the HWOD unit and it is threaded so that the pump can be screwed directly into it.

Does it have a pump for direct access to river water 1 answer
Does the Coleman hot water system have a pump for direct access to river water
Julie - Alice springs(8 years ago)
G'day Julie,
The Coleman Hot Water On Demand H2Oasis system does have a pump which you submerge in water. Keep in mind that the water does have to be clean, so if the river water has too much sediment then you are going to run into a bit of trouble.Â

How many propane cartidges do I need?1 answer
Hi Snowys, how many propane cartridges do I need for 4 people for 8 days. 1 shower per day. Enough to wet the body, turn off soap up and rinse?
Rebecca - DUBBO, NSW(9 years ago)
Hi Rebecca 7 bottles will be plenty provided each shower is limited to 30 Litres of water consumption. Coleman states "up to 150 Litres per 465gm LPG bottle." My calculations are based on: 4 people, 8 days, = 32 showers. A generous camp shower is 30 Litres x 32 = 960 Litres. Divide by 150 Litres = 6.4 bottles. Obviously you could reduce this greatly by having shorter showers. Also consider using a re-fillable LPG gas cylinder (up to 9kg) for better gas economy, you will just need to purchase the additional gas hose. (Snowys code 40619 or 40620 depending which fitting matches your cylinder.)

Garden hose connection2 answers
How does the unit connect to a garden hose? Is an adapter required?
Beth - USA(9 years ago)
Hi Beth, you can connect a garden hose to this unit using a standard hose connector.
I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any further questions.
Lisa - Snowys(9 years ago)
G'day Beth - Further to Lisa's response: you don't require any adapters to fit a standard garden hose. It's 'plug and play', so to speak. However, just be mindful of your water pressure when using it - if the pressure of your tap is high and you turn it on full bore, it may blow the hose off. Turn it on gradually until you find the right pressure. Cheers, Paul

hi snowy does the unit have to have contiues water flow1 answer
trevor - ADELAIDE, SA(9 years ago)
The unit will cut out if the water flow slows too much or runs out Trevor, so it's best to ensure you have a continuous supply from a large reservoir, or better yet connected directly to a garden hose.

Charging1 answer
G'day Snowys, Am I reading the specs correctly. This unit can only be charged with 12V while the Elite can be charged with 240V or 12V? Thanks, ADrian
Adrian - Auckland(9 years ago)
Hi Adrian, your sort of right. Both models can be charged from 12 V and 240 V power sources, but the Oasis Elite is the only model that comes complete with both chargers, whereas the 240 V charger is available separately for the Oasis. There is only subtle differences between the two models.
Ben - Snowys(9 years ago)
What's the difference between the Elite and the normal one?1 answer
Keith - EAST MELBOURNE, VIC(9 years ago)
Hi Keith, with the HWOD Oasis Elite you get two USB charging points, a digital display, four setting shower head and an 8 foot hose instead of the 6 foot on the base model. The big difference is in the digital display which shows water temperature, battery monitor and flame status.
