Roughing it in style, the Oztrail Kokomo Swag brings a touch of personality to the campsite with its feminine colours, perfect for the glamper.
Tough 330gsm SatProof 600+ ripstop canvas has been saturated with an anti mildew waterproofing agent prior to manufacture to ensure reliable protection for a lifetime of outdoor adventures. Three high tensile Durallium poles keep the canvas off your face while you rest in comfort on the 6cm high density open cell foam mattress.
Easy access through a full length top opening that features both canvas and mesh layers, weather proof head and foot awnings facilitate ventilation and heavy duty roll straps are incorporated into the design making the Kokomo Swag quick and easy to pack up.
Can this swag be used just as a simple flat bed? Like the swags when you don't assemble/zip them up?
G'day Zoe,
You could set up the Kokomo without the poles, but there would be excess fabric, plus the swag would rest on your body/face while you sleep when it's zipped up. You could unzip it but you would be exposed which might not be ideal if there are insects around.
There is the option of an envelope swag which is a very simple design without poles, Companion make one called the Rhino Compact 320 Swag which you might want to check out here.
What stretcher would best suit this swag?
Hey Teagan, I'd recommend the Outdoor Connection Sundowner Titan Stretcher or the Darche XL 100 Stretcher. Both of these have ample dimensions to accommodate a swag. The Titan Stretcher is slightly sturdier and has a higher rated capacity, but both are good quality durable choices.
Darche XL100 vs OZtrail easy fold jumbo - which is less likely to tip while getting in / out ? Will also use centre ridge pole with Kokomo swag.
G’day Teagan,
The Outdoor Connection Sundowner Titan Stretcher has sturdier legs and can take 180kg of weight, so for that reason, I would say it would be less likely to tip over.
Hi Teagan,
Sorry I misread your question, both the Oztrail Easy Fold Jumbo and Darche XL 100 stretchers look to be very similar in design, and have the same weight rating. We have had the Oztrail for a little longer so we do have more experience with it, but that's not to say that the Darche isn't going to be sturdy as well.
If you're using it with your Kokomo swag which is 210cm long, the Darche XL 100 is 216cm long compared to the Easy Fold Jumbo which is 210cm long - so the Darche will accommodate the length better.
do you have pics of how it comes wrapped?
G'day Cecilia,
The Oztrail Kokomo Swag only comes standard with straps to keep the swag rolled up. If you wanted a bag to better protect it whilst in transit we'd recommend the Oztrail Swag Bag- King Single (https://www.snowys.com.au/swag-bag-king-single). I've attached a picture of the Oztrail Mitchell King Swag rolled up which is basically a green version of the Kokomo.
R the pink & purple swags adult sizes or children's
G'day CC,
The Oztrail Kokomo swags are adult sizes.
Just wondering on the occasions you don't want to have it set up fully (hotter climates) can you fold the Amex down and not use the poles.
G'day Genevieve,Â
It's not going to be optimal to set up the Kokomo like that, as it's designed to be used with the poles. There is a full insect screen on this model so in hot weather, you can just unzip the canvas, and zip up the mesh for air flow and protection from mozzies. Â
Will the swag stay up without ropes on the end. i.e. when set up on a cement floor
We have got 2 oztrails at the moment but I want to buy one each for the kids but want 3 coloured ones to stop confusion
